I recently inherited them as a supplier to a commercial property. They are bloody useless and constantly try to overbill. I kid you not, they they estimated the usage for one day as 150% of the usage for the previous two months!
Have you considered sending them an actual reading ?

Give them the readings then!
I did, the two months usage was based on meter readings, they added one extra day usage to the bill equivalent to 150% of the two months usage.

Indeed. Nearly everytime some moans about their bill and/or balance it’s because it’s estimated due to never providing regular readings.

My tracker renewal email came through so replied saying I wanted to be kept on it.

No problem at all. Another 12 months from June.

Have now been switched over to Octopus from Bulb and have been asked to give a meter reading. No problem doing this for the electric reading, but going to the online gas meter reading just keeps getting "oops, something went wrong" message.

Anybody else had this issue?

Gave up trying to call, as just put on hold with no indication of how long the wait is. Not the best of starts. Bulb always worked well for me.

Try the app? Or maybe just give it a few days.

@OctopusEnergy

Just ask the question without any specific details and ask them to send you a DM

Now then, what about the Octopus roulette wheel that pops up when you give an online meter reading and holds out the promise of winning credit for your account. I must have spun the thing 30 or more times by now and have never won a penny, which is unbelievably improbable when you consider the limited number of sectors on the wheel of which only about half are £0.

Does anyone ever win anything?

Are the dice loaded? (If you see what I mean...)

Should it be investigated as a fraudulent promotion?

Your actual odds are certainly not those that are implied by the graphic of the wheel. Whether that's actually misleading or not, I don't know.

Have been trying to get one fitted for months. Seems that there's a bit of a queue.

Not just a queue, but often the contractors work in regions at a time. So until there are enough jobs in your region you won't get booked.

I'm in Surrey, within the M25. Based on pop density I believe there are plenty of jobs in my region. When I last enquired I was told they were v busy but would get round to us. I no longer check as there's nothing more I can do.

Had the same issue, and waited on the phone for a while, listening to the advise to email, so I did, stating there was an issue, and the reading numbers I was trying to submit, and had a reply in a couple of hours .

So there are more staff reading mails than answering the phones.
