They have told me that I've referred two people, but still no sign of the credits.

... I can't fault them
Let me be the first to speak ill of the hallowed Octopus...

Does nobody else think that monthly meter readings is a bit much, there's a ton of stuff in the cupboard under the stairs and I'm fed up emptying it every bloody month.

Or the email telling me my direct debit is coming out soon - I know it's coming out soon, nobody else forewarns me about an upcoming regular monthly direct debit.

Love and power. x
I asked them to turn the notifications off and they've done so. It also stops the monthly reading email too but I've told them I'll give them a reading every couple of months or so. I thought they might try and steer me toward a 'smart' meter but they didn't. I don't mind giving infrequent readings but agree with you that monthly is a little too frequent. Perhaps it helps stop some people getting into high levels of arrears but I've had to reduce my DD as I've still got a couple of hundred in credit on there and I only use about £50-60/mo.

I had that too but got them to refund all but 1 DD months worth to my bank which they did without a fuss..

(Think it helped that I got a CH valve replaced about the same time as I switched so the system is much more efficient now. Can't blame them for setting up the DD to previous consumption I guess. Will keep an eye on it.)

We've been with them for a similar time to you and it's the same here. All good!

Anyone know if I can ask Octopus to fit an isolator switch after my meter (that they are also installing) when they come over? Would save me some hassle with getting the CU/Henley block or whatever sorted for the EV charger, without having to get the supply cut off again.

Anyone signed up for the Outgoing Octopus tariff to sell your spare energy back to the grid?

I have, and they tell me I'm earning credit through it, but they haven't been able to tell me how much yet.

I'm on Outgoing, but they can't work out how to produce bills with it yet...
I'm tracking my useage and PV generation, but can't determine the exported kWh.
Hopefully it'll be done soon

No it was a Marie who sent me the info.
Phil did help get my Outgoing originally setup though.

Also with them and got a we brucy bonus using her dads referral link. Anyone here ever won anything on the wheel of fortune spin yet you get when putting in your readings? Either nobody wins or I'm as usual not lucky enough lol

Customer service seems to be slow for me. Friendly yes, but too slow.

I moved house so wanted my dual tariff moved, and they only moved electric. I've opened up a dispute about meter readings too, and they aren't responding to it, previous tenants at my house underdeclared 1000kwh of electricity that they are trying to get me to pay for. I still have no idea who is supplying my gas as Octopus say its someone different to a letter I got in the post claiming I need to pay them.

Once I get it all straight and clear, I'm probably going to move to Bulb now.

Been with since july and can only day good things.

I'd ended up with £600 credit, a quick email and 2 days later I had £500 in my account. Can't stay fairer than that

However, savings are only made, IF you pay frequent attention to the meter.
Or if you use a lot of electricity off-peak. Octopus offer contracts with variable tarrifs; a particularly noteworthy one being 5p/kwh for 5 hours overnight which can be a big saving for EV owners.

SMETS2 meters (which Octopus are now installing) should be fully transferrable. Some areas still don't have good enough network coverage for them though.

Very happy with our smart meter so far, not because I pay any attention to it or have a fancy tarrif, but because not having to read the meter is just one less thing to do.

I've just renewed with them for a second year. They've been great so far and to be honest I'd rather stick with them than bounce to someone else to save £4/year etc.

Stupid question but how often do Octopus actually bill?

I’ve been with them since the start of September on a new connection, and have actually been using electricity since late November, and I’ve never had a bill nor has my account balance gone down.

I spoke to Octopus and a guy started asking me to send meter readings, even though Octopus themselves fitted a SMETS2 meter back in September. When I said that to the support person he just said something about “issues with some meters” which didn’t fill me with any confidence at all.

Should I expect to be billed monthly?

I pay a set monthly amount and send readings in. Ended up £170 in credit, and they cut my payments by £30. Last month I gained £2 credit.

Iv never once won on the wheel.. I'm sceptical anyone does.

You send readings in even if you have a smart meter? Doesn’t that defeat the point somewhat?

Our Eon deal was up for renewal for dualfuel and surprisingly Octopus were more expensive than the other top 5 energy suppliers plus several others, even taking into account the £50 credit opportunity! Maybe next time round!

(Based on actual consumption figures)

...but we are finally on the GO tariff (technically a beta “Go Faster one that gives 5p/kWh from 20:30hrs for 4 hours).
Zappi charger set to boost from 20:30 last night....cheeky 20kW to fill up the Kona: about 60-80 miles for a quid: nice!
Something not right here...

From Octopus' web site "The smart tariff with super cheap electricity for 5p/kWh between 00:30 - 04:30 every night"
Your Kona is now full of 'premium' electricity at 15p per kWh (I guess it will run better though - just like putting Shell V-Power in your ICE)
smile (not actually being serious, in case you were wondering - but do check your timings)
