I've got an evolution sliding mitre saw and dustbag. The dustbag is next to pointless. It probably gets less than 10% of what comes out.

I've just got adaptors for a couple of tools (sander, track saw, mitre saw) to connect my household Henry hoover to them, works a treat, captures the vast majority of the dust...
Got the adaptors on Amazon or eBay iirc

Batteries have changed - so won't fit - therefore you're basically starting again.

Decision 1 - will you ditch the old drill & buy a twin kit of drill & driver ?
Decision 2 - minimum battery aH - I went for 4 & 5's - others prefer more and smaller/lighter - depends whether you're working somewhere that makes charging easy.
Decision 3 - brand - up to you really, if starting out, likely whoever has the best offer this week.

For wheel nuts, I use a breaker bar / torque wrench to start finish & then the small impact driver with a 1/4" adapter in between
Thank you
1) not sure I need to- but with t rule it out
2) light / easy recharging sounds a good option
3) Agreed !

Screwfix have a cheap job with good reviews at £70odd all the way up to £300
How much or what is required to last a couple of years at least.
I got a 12v Makita with a 2A battery. Even that lasts ages and when the battery (lighter and cheaper than 4A) runs out, its time for a break. With fast charging, it's recharged in ~ 30 minutes.

Is that the Lidl one from the other month? If so, how did you find it in use?

Finally got a sliding mitre saw - should have got one long ago, so much better and easier than hand cutting or a circular saw for most things.

Just need to get a dust bag as I had the dust outlet angled into the wind, which meant all the sawdust blew out into the air, then back into my face.
Good shout! haven't had mine out of the box yet but hope to do so in the next few days. Any pointers as to what/where to get from?
No its a Bosch which I purchased from Screwfix. I bought the stand separately.
Excellent piece of kit (as a general rule, I always buy the best I can to a budget, if that makes sense).

Can you provide a link to the stand? I have the same saw & am trying to find a suitable stand to use with it.

I think the majority of stands are universal anyway. The stand I got was a Bosch GTA2600.
I got it from an Ireland tool company Mcquillans if memory serves.
Evolution stand looks identical btw.

I've got the evo stand as well. I can't explain how much of a help these stands are, particularly if you are cutting lots of wood. This is hot on the heels of an impact drill for best tools I've ever bought.

hose clamps

and to undo the hoses from inside engine bay

Keen to know how good this is. I've been looking at getting one as well.
Worth every penny if you're dicking around with those clamps regularly. I bought one for when I was changing out the AOS on my old boxster. You need to release a couple of those clamps, from about half a metre away, through a letterbox aperture in the subframe. Only that tool is capable of doing it! smile

Now I've got the tool, I don't have to go find a pair of pliers , mole grips, grippers, etc... that inevitably slip off. Just clamp the spring in that tool and move it to where you want it to go.

Does this fall under the PH moniker of buy cheap buy twice - or sufficient for occasional use?

Is it a high volume inflator or high pressure ?

Generally anything that will pump up a car tyre is no use for a kayak....

Except the new DeWalt which has both yes

This Aldi one looks OK. I've been impressed with Lidl and Aldi Tools. Drill, driver, charger and 2 x batteries for £100 can't be bad. 3 year warranty too.

Bought one, the 12v battery can just about do 4 tyres to 35psi. FIne when it's connected to the cigarette lighter. Has the attachments for filling balls and air beds etc. Presume it's fine

I think I need (want) a belt sander. It’ll be used on a lot of vertical surfaces so ideally not too heavy. I’m a buy-once-buy-right type of guy so budget can be as flexible as it needs to be but bearing in mind this is for DIY not trade use. Any suggestions chaps?
