Which religion is better, which brand of car is better ? Very rarely will someone recommend the one they didn't chose themselves.....
Likely someone will be along very soon to recommend a Makita or some other alternative....
Are you saying there are the same and its a case of just choosing a brand and not much more?
I'm on the lookout, as soon as a good deal comes up I'm going to grab it. Hopefully Makita, but only as I know people with their stuff, so we will have a bigger pool between us.

Look at the relevant manufacturers websites and the range of tools each offer - what kit are you more likely to want in the future?
(You might say that Milwaukee are more aligned with mechanics/engineers type tools and Dewalt are more on the construction side of things....?).
Personally I am a Milwaukee fan. What I would say is - if your a 'home' user or enthusiastic DIYer, I'd spend less, get the brushed version of the combi pack and use the savings to buy some other stuff at the same time - you could get a 'body only' chop saw, jigsaw, inspection light, etc whatever.
Ive for both fuel (brushless) and brushed kit, there really is no need for Brushless unless your using them day in day out. The Brushed Milwaukee combo drill and impact driver is really, really good and a fair bit cheaper than that you linked to.

Also consider buying from FFX, Anglian Tool Centre and Power Tool World, to name another 3 places! Always a deal on somewhere! I think I've bought from all of them in the past.Milwaukee twin set:

Color is of no preference and I dont have any other cordless tools so this would be the start of the battery collection.

Whilst not exactly 'the same' the differences between the big brands at equivalent price points are marginal. However, you won't go far wrong with any of them. Generally, anyone who feels particularly strongly is only really justifying the choice they made, most grown ups recognise they just have a bias for a reason they probably can't even explain. Are you saying there are the same and its a case of just choosing a brand and not much more?
You are buying into an ecosystem though, so worth considering anything else you may want. There are some units that not all brands do - or do differently - such as tyre inflators or coffee machines....

The essentials If you can get to a Screwfix counter or similar it might be worth seeing if you can compare the drill/drivers at least in the hand. Some feel better balanced and/or lighter than others and often that's a personal preference, at least as important as considering the colour.
Otherwise, just get a dartboard and go odds for DeWalt, evens for Milwaukee. There's really nothing between them for most users (or Makita, Bosch blue etc.)

Just what ive noticed over the years.
Milwaukee for me, i have the Fuel stuff and its the dogs danglies.
It replaced an ageing set of Erbauer tools, which for DIY purposes is absolutely fine, they always get my recommendation for value. I was using them day in day out at work with no issue, its just i fancied a new set of tools one night after a few scoops, plus i needed a frame nailer and Erbauer dont do those so man maths told me to buy the complete new set so it all matched.

Have a look at Power Tool Mate, both the website, Facebook pages and EBay shop. They are usually just about the cheapest for Milwaukee, or very close to it. I think they price match too. The only trouble with them is their prices are not aligned between EBay and with their own site so you have to check both to get the best deal.

They are my go to for Milwaukee. As you say, they are rarely beaten on price. I’m never going to add up how much I’ve spent with them so far! Now waiting for Milwaukee to bring out a lawnmower.normalbloke said:

I bought the welder and plunge saw from Lidl, both of which are now filling the boot of my SL.
I don’t have the first idea how or what to weld.
I’ve a garden stove where line of the seams is cracked, is that the sort of thing it’s designed for?
I have a mig welder and highly recommend getting a gas one and forget the silly little hobby bottles.I don’t have the first idea how or what to weld.

I also use oxy acetelyne and love using that. Apocalypse points too as don’t need electricity

That post is not much use without listing the battery size.
Or the charger type - Makita make fast and standard ones. I imagine Milwaukee are the same. Gassing Station | Homes, Gardens and DIY | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
