When we did a bathroom used Crosswater fittings. Not cheap but have a real quality feel to them.

We have Grohee and Croswater stuff. Whilst it is expensive, the Labour is the greatest cost by far and if you’re keeping the property it’s surely worth it

Also, Victoria plumb, and Victorian Plumbing, are chalk and cheese companies

I wouldn’t have a booster pump in my forever home. Unvented all the way unless there really is no choice.

The matki shower enclosure I put in 15years ago is still going strong and shows no signs of any deterioration
we replaced our matki with Merlyn, much better. Less mould traps, easier to clean and less fussy.

Crosswater push button shower valves are fantastic

RAK
Come across some of their stuff and it looks quite good, I'm fitting their ceramics in our next developement so I’ll see I guess.
We had some real issues in our last place with a RAK micro sink for a small water closet. The first 2 came I’ll packed and in many many pieces, the 3rd was packed well but not fully cast, the 4th was fine and then discoloured from white to yellow in about a 2” circle within 6mths, the 5th was perfect and fine when we moved out 5yrs later.

We have Crosswater taps/shower control in all of our bathrooms, absolutely no issues with them. All of our toilets are by Saneux (Matteo and I-Line), again no issues and quality seems good. Our sinks/vanity units are a mixture of Bauhaus and No Code, all good after 2-3 years.

Just following up on the howling derision of me recommending ideal standard.

I'd taken my own advice, based on probably 20 year old fittings we had in a previous house.

I've just finished most of the bathroom.

Their furniture units are actually really nicely made.
The toilet is also, pretty good, at least as good as I expected.
The basin is just about good enough.

The taps, however, are complete and utter crap. I'm diy-ing most of this house refurb, and I think this fking basin tap might be the first thing that has beaten me.
Bath tap is at best acceptable. Their instructions are woeful and the helpline is worse than useless. Instructions don't give the size of hole needed for the bath tap, so phoned up and they trotted off 48mm. Excellent, I have a 48mm holesaw.
Fortunately I had the good sense to try it in a bit of ply offcut first, otherwise I'd have written off a few hundred quid of Bath as it actually needs a 45mm hole.
It's saving grace is that it looks nice and has the highest flow rate of a single hole bath mixer I could find.

I suspect I'll have to suck it up and just buy a different basin tap, retailer won't help with faulty things and I can't face phoning the helpline again.

If you think bathroom fittings are crap these days, try sourcing some decent front door furniture!

I can never remember which the good one is, so use neither...

Google cast iron door handles. That will help you find suppliers of decent door furniture.
