We are wanting to get a TV for this room but don’t want a big unit or to mount it on the wall. The only thing we have seen is the Samsung Serif which looks great but is over priced for what it is.
The house looks spot on - I love the glass walling in particular.

For the TV, how about something like the bracket in this photo? They come with a silver or black base. All the cables run up the column so a very neat install. We are a dealer so if you want a deal just drop me a PM

If it doesn't appeal then no problem!

Sure, we used this I think the colour is Poppy Seed.

https://abigailahern.com/collections/limewash-pain...

It comes from Australia and it’s really simple to apply. You just need a thick, wide natural brush (we bought the brush from the link) and layer it letting it dry between coats using big brush strokes. It takes a few weeks to properly cure. Check out YouTube for guides!

It’s worth a look do you have a link to a site with specs etc. How child proof is it and can you accommodate a Sonos beam ?

Just another thought because the rear of the TV will be facing into the room how does the back look? One of the reasons the Serif was suggested is due to the back being covered with a felt style back

You can mount soundbars under them, no problem. We normally position them in a corner as the backs of most TVs look crap. As long as the cables are dressed properly then it should look OK - something like a Samsung has a flap to hide the connections.

They are 50kg - plus the TV - so I guess it should be pretty safe for a toddler but you would need to make your own mind up on that point...

Thanks I will take a look at these.

I still think the ugly rear of the TV will prohibit these and end up going for the Serif!

That's alright. At least you know you have options.

As I said before the house looks lovely - makes me want a project!

We understand what comes with soft wood flooring our hallway has it with the same oil plus stain.

We wanted the worn look on the floor and will get it especially with a 9 month old dropping things on it!

Worse case (as the boards needed replacing any way we have spent a couple of hundred quid with something that we have to sand back every few years!
Agree o softwood comments- we had it in one bedroom as we used the original boards from it to replace broken or damaged boards elsewhere. Two years on the soft pine is a mess: shrunken and warped. We are carpeting over it.

Pin the skirting in the kitchen Andrew rather than glueing them. It will make replacing the floor much easier one day!

I would highly recommend our designer as she has helped us make many of the bold choices.
100%, she's very good indeed.

Lovely house, you should be proud of this one.

I’m going to pretend like I know what I’m talking about now but if your room is naturally dark embrace it. Any white paint you put in there will be altered by the lack of light and end up not looking great. We have always been told to work with dark rooms by going dark then using pops of colour to bring it to life and clever lighting.
This is spot on! Also, make sure when testing colours you are using the light temperature you intend to use. Colours looks very different under 6000k to 2700k...

Thanks Harry we love the kitchen it has definitely transformed the way we live in the house.

Re: the flooring it’s all pinned including the skirting. We had a christening / first birthday party for our son the other week and the flooring held up with 60 people including heels walking on it. It was a solution that we could afford at the time as we had not budgeted to have to replace the whole floor and all the joists and this only cost us in the region of 300 quid (plus joists) to do the lot so worse case no major outlay!

Really like the limewash matt black wall, thought you could only get that effect with polished plaster, how do you apply it exactly?

Another one echoing the initial skeptisicm, but that's an incredible space. The windows, the artwork, and the details of the kitchen work really well for me. Top work.

My wife did a few videos of her painting it as there was a lack of decent ones on YouTube. I will get her to upload them later and I will link

Hi! It’s been a while since my last update.

We have been doing loads of bits and bobs such as hallways etc and getting those small but buggery jobs done!

The next major job to undertake is the master bedroom, en-suite and dressing room

Bedroom and dressing room

En-suite

View

The plan

The wood panels will wrap around the back of the room up to the glazing. They will conceal hidden wardrobes and draws (first 2 pics). The bed will be to the right on the second pic.

Where the glazing is we plan to have a sitting area coffee machine.

Everything has been purchased for this and work starts tomorrow on the bathroom so will post updates.

Joinary work will follow the bathrooms!

Oh in addition to this we now have the black bedroom with the flowers on AirBnB. It’s been fairly successful since listing it in September.
