Had an email combined with a message on my smart meter.

People have had an email.

I haven't had one yet either.
After seeing this thread had been updated I decided to try the Bulb app, and it said I'd been moved over and I needed to create a password. So put my email in and went to check my emails (which I hadn't checked today) and there was an email from Octopus at 9am today saying I'd been moved over and I needed to create a password, and also the email I'd triggered by using the app.

Still no email or message on the meter for me. Then again my surname is alphabetically last (or close to) so perhaps that is why.

Do you stay with your Bulb tariff when you swap?

No gas smart meter for me. The previous occupant of my property was with British Gas and they insisted that a smart meter had to be fitted, came to do the job and opened the bin cupboard where the meters are and promptly said they were not touching the meter because it was mounted on an asbestos lined wall. They told the occupant (single mum, two kids and very limited income) that she had to get asbestos removed so that they could fit the meter, she told them FRO and nothing has been heard since.

Same here but the reason is the pipe in is lead and they were terrified it would leak!

Still with bulb atm

Submitted first readings to octopus, quite impressed, fully updated bills within the hour. (£390 for 43 days)

All seems quite clear too after the convoluted mess that was bulb.

Octopus is a joy in comparison to any energy company I have ever had to deal with

Now I have my smart meters installed the Bulb website is recommending that the meter readings be taken every half an hour (currently taking once a day).

Why would they recommend every 30 mins?

So you can see more detail in your usage if your interested in seeing how you use your energy

It scares me stupid to see how much my lot use and waste rofl

I've even put my energy usage monitor in the garage so i don't see it all the time.

Just submitted my first reading with Octopus and had my free spin award. Didn’t win anything but a nice touch all the same. Also like that I’ve not had to wait for the bill to be generated and could see instantly my payment.

Kids asked me about getting a smart meter. I explained that I’d be interested to know what they use for their computers etc as I’m barely at home. They don’t want a smart meter.
