Well I've just done a comparison on my annual useage for last year & Bulb are still just less than Octopus by a few pence. It's not worth me switching at the moment unless I find a much cheaper supplier.

Igloo are £2 a month less BUT want to ping me 20% extra for three months over Winter just in case I go negative. No thanks; the aim is to be neutral over the year, not to always be in credit.

Shell are £8 a month more before they raise the prices & their site only seems to work in Chrome so they are out as well

Hmm, Avro would be about £2 a month more than I currently pay for Bulb but fixed for 12 months so no chance of the price going down in the summer. Bulb have said they aren't raising my DD so I'll wait for a couple of months to see if they do & re-evaluate.

I've noticed it's harder to find the page where you enter your annual usage rates on the Bulb site - they want to take a guess. You have to select 'Can't find my address' after entering your postcode & that brings up a different entry screen which eventually includes the actual useage option.

How else are you going to pay for all the pipework, pumps, control centers, meters & other infrastructure need to bring gas to your door? All that is still needed even if you don't use much gas in a month.

I feel sorry for the 1000 or so people who have probably lost their jobs today. I hope they get retained or manage to find new positions.

I just logged on to enter my meter readings & they suggest reducing my DD from £100 to £88, which surprised me a bit. I have a small amount in credit, but not a massive amount.

I hardly use any gas but have (yesterday) submitted the requested meter readings for the next bill, I over read the meter by 30kw so that should cover me for a few months before I have to start paying the increased rate smile
I like this idea.
Fraud?
I like to call it payment in advance
The problem will be if they decide that your useage has risen & will no longer be covered by the current DD. Don't be surprisd if they whack it up to cover the new expected use.

I don't like these changes at all. Several elements with defined timescales are now replaced with extremly woolly definitions like "reasonable" what is reasonable to them may not reasonable to the customers.

The worst is that it seems you can no longer have a zero account balance at the end of your billing period: you need to have at least enough left to cover the next month, which will be hundreds of pounds for some customers. If your monthly payment is £250 you'll have to have £500 in your account after the monthy DD lands in their account.

I was with bulb up until we moved out of our place 5 weeks ago. New house is finally ready so do I resign up with bulb or just go straight to Octopus?
I don't think you can sign up with Bulb - I can't see tarifs or where to get a quote on the website now.
