Keep going romeogolf. I had a similar thing a while back with my bell of an agent. They charged me £90 for a new carbon monoxide detector, which I had personally replaced the previous month (for about £15 and 30 seconds work). The lengths I had to go to to get the £90 refunded were ridiculous and not worth my time, but I caught the lying bds out.

Not far off. I’ll charge an hours labour to fit an alarm. £60 ex vat. That’s about £90 incl the materials. No chance I’m driving an hour to an agent, getting keys, doing job, dropping keys off then driving to another job for less than an hours charge.

Fair enough. Except they didn’t do it.

Surely the fact that you have an email from the fob manufacturer stating that they can be cloned means they haven’t got a leg to stand on, unless the CCTV shows that one of the guys is your tenant?

You’d think so wouldn’t you. Managing Agents often think their above the law.

This thread reminds me of the Extended Warranty thread which is heading for a great result:-
