Tiling, is this "good enough" from a pro?

I am, I suppose a DIY tiler.
But I am a DIY tiler because that looks like the majority of professional work I've seen.
I am far slower but my standards are far higher.
Amen to that!!But I am a DIY tiler because that looks like the majority of professional work I've seen.

So fed up with shoddy trades I do most jobs myself these days. Here’s my foray into tiling/flooring
Not suggesting it’s perfect, but I hear far too many stories like the OPs!

It's not perfect but unless you did your homework and looked at some of previous work, you're really taking a stab in the dark with tradespeople.
Customers' standards differ, as do tradespersons' abilities.
Some customers don't know a bad job when they see it and others will pick holes to the smallest detail.
Trades see this as an excuse not to pay and that's where the disputes start.
Personally, I'd accept it but make it clear you're not happy and then put it down to experience.
If he offers to put it right then all well and good. If not, you can sleep peacefully knowing that he won't make the same errors with another customer

Nice that It different nowadays innit, with YouTube and all the ‘trade’ products being available.
I grew up thinking I wasn’t “handy”, but then I realised half of it was knowing that certain tools or products existed and the other half was knowing what to do. Screwfix/ YouTube job done.

I tiled my own bathroom too, but its was 50:50 work being fairly slow at the time and wanting aspects like mitred external joins and not wanting to be "told" by some grunt that I should be happy with a plastic strip. But I am a DIY tiler because that looks like the majority of professional work I've seen.

Its not perfect (I'm hard on myself though) but I've seen far, far worse in the trade.
