Geraniums are great pot plants that add loads of colour. We use them a lot!https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/articles/graham-rice...

I would agree. Geraniums be a perfect addition. https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/articles/graham-rice...
Some trailing ones would look great in that pot. They are also quite hardy when the hot weather comes and don’t mind the odd bit of dry soil short term
It's worth it if planting a mature plant into a pot (No3 that is). If it's happy as it is, which it looks like, just leave be. I think that's an olive anyhow, and they grow in any old crap!
If you're just planting bedding plants, such as the lobelia and geraniums (basically most stuff you can buy in little trays) then all multipurpose composts are generally much of a muchness. Miracle grow really is some freakishly good stuff though! Just thrown some over the top, dig in a bit with whatever is there and thrown some soil in from any random corner of your garden
Aldi are selling bags of 40l multi purpose for £2.79 at the moment, which should be fine.
