I'd be more concerned about compromising your DPC rather than wether to seal or not yikes

Agree. Do not seal. It might look for good for a few weeks or months but long term it may hinder natural moisture movement through the stone leading to blistering.

Sealed ours, looks great after the first winter, no dirt or stains.

My only (big) regret is not stretching to a proper weathered York stone, which would have suited our old house a lot better.

Looks pretty good now, darker and more even. Very slight change in what it looked like before, but the powdery milkiness has gone.

Bumpity bump!

Missus is just about to have a small patio laid this week, made of this: https://globalstonepaving.co.uk/product/gardenston...

Does anyone have any recommendations for sealing / preventing lichen etc? Happy to pay slightly more for a decent product if it means I don't need to do it every 6 months or so!

Thank you smile

Mine still looks great, haven't re treated this year. Jet washed it, pretty good.

Have sawn and honed Indian sandstone down for 2 years now and have only pressure washed / swept it. Am I going to hell?

I love the fact that the Paving Expert's block paving is absolutely covered with weeds and moss... laugh

Excellent - I will grab some of the sealant you recommended.

Hopefully it will work across multiple stone types (https://globalstonepaving.co.uk/product/gardenstone-paving/)

Thanks!
