Robovacs good or not?

I have the J7, which I like a lot. You can take it to a different area and once its done it just stops and then you can take it downstairs to the dock.
PS might be worth waiting until Black Friday for a deal.
That must be an option with mine as well, I need to look into it. How did you get it to map upstairs/a different area if it can't start from its dock? PS might be worth waiting until Black Friday for a deal.

I just put it upstairs and sent it on a mapping run. Then it makes a new map, like it did when I got it. My Dyson 360 battery seems to be coming to the end of its life, but Dyson have had it out of stock for quite a while now. Whilst quite a 'dumb' robot hoover, it has quite good suction even on carpet, so it made a good option. I'm thinking about replacing it, is there anything out there significantly better now?

Maybe watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRZLcft2PBcAlso, if anyone's out there. If one of the newer robots with the scanning and obstacle avoidance is 10mm or so lower than a table, will it happily go under it? I have a few tv tables and sofas that will allow it to go under them, but I didn't know if the height could be too close for them to go under or if they fit the crack on as normal?
Most robovacs have very small tolerances for fitting under stuff so you should be ok; my Eufy goes under my tables and consoles and it only has maybe 1-2mm gap.
No first hand experience of those with the mopping function but I was put off them when reading reviews before buying mine a couple of years ago. From what I read the mop function is pretty gimmicky - small tank for the water means most just dampen the cloth which then drags across the floor. Expect streaks and any tough stains/spills to remain behind. But that's what I read; don't know anyone who got one with a mop function to verify.

My Eufy 30C is now 3.5 years old - best bit of time/labour saving device we've had.
The Battery finally conked out and got a generic replacement from the Jungle people for £16.48, and a new roller & brush kit. It's like a new-old-thing again. 90 minutes, 6 days a week. Needs emptying every 3rd day, but on her wages, I don't mind...
I'd buy one again, and wouldn't bother with a "mapper", since on daily routine, it covers the entire open plan floor space (80m) at least every second day.

A few seem to spin brushes or vibrate/ oscillate the mop. I believe they're getting better. I have hardwood floors. Any mopping is better than none, and I don't want it as wet as you would with tiles.
My daughter had a robovac which she progammed to vaccuum the open plan downstairs in the morning each day before anyone was up and about. Unfortunately one of her dogs had a bad bout of diarrhorea (Apologies for s**t spelling). Said robovac managed to spread the matter in question everywhere. Not pleasant!

I'm tempted by one Roborock S7's. I have pre-finiished wooden floors throughout except the bathrooms.
What are the moping modes like? I can't have it as wet as tiles. But hope to still clean the floor.
I've got an S7 it doesn't drench the floor just a light film of water that dries very quickly. What are the moping modes like? I can't have it as wet as tiles. But hope to still clean the floor.
There's 3 modes for mopping, I'm set to max as I felt it wasn't putting enough water down, I think you'd be fine given there are 2 lower settings.

Would you saying the mopping was affective?

How low an item does the S7 go under? I have a tv table coming which is higher but only just than the robot.

From what I've seen it'll go under anything it fits under, it feels it's way in first using the edge if it's really tight.Would you saying the mopping was affective?
The mopping is fine if you run it daily, it'll maintain the floor as it'll only get so dirty in one day.
I'd recommend doing a manual mop first then let the s7 take over, it recommends not using the mopping function until you've ran the vac 3 times to clear all the crap from the floor.

Then do you run the mop and vac simultaneously?
Any regrets spending the extra on the S7 over cheaper models? I'm tempted by the s7 maxv as I'm buying, thought I might buy the top one then see how it goes for year on.
I can't really position the self emptying dock anywhere nice, so will probably just get the normal dock and empty it myself.
I see reviews of people running them during the night these days, but you wouldn't with our old one as it was too noisy.
We had a vac years ago and it was a free one off of a friend then, so old. It did the job, but i'm.sure things have moved on leaps and bounds.

Yes the vac and mop run simultaneously. Then do you run the mop and vac simultaneously?

No regrets at all it's a great piece of kit I really like the mapping and how it's all controlled so easily through the app.
I've got the self emptying dock, the standard one not the maxV, it was a must for me as I didn't want to faff about constantly emptying the vac manually.

OOI, how does this self emptying work ?No regrets at all it's a great piece of kit I really like the mapping and how it's all controlled so easily through the app.

All getting a bit clever.
