Hi anyone got any experience of costs for fitting a new single garage door before I speak with some companies, basically looking for an insulated steel or plastic (not sure which is best). Also any recommendations would be welcome for the Hertfordshire area.

Thanks

To give you a price ballpark.

About £3000 for 2x non insulated but powered up and over garage doors just south of Watford at the start of the year.
Which involved removing the existing frames to make the openings wider.

I think non powered saved £500 or so a door.

I wouldn't recommend the company my parents used as whilst the quality of work was good, their organisation was abysmal.
It took 9 visits and many chases to complete the job so I won't name drop them.

As above, but £1200 powered inc installation, and removal of old door

I've just paid £895 for a single black electric roller with 2 fobs and manual override.

That's fitted and taking away old up and over door.

Edit to add Midlands

I'm being quoted between £5400+VAT and £7200+VAT for 3 x single doors, GRP woodgrain effect with panels (CDC Banham), with steel frames and automation and installation. Surrey. My doors are wider than usual so custom sizes which probably pushes the price up a bit.
