I guarantee the everyone who has an Aga also has a Dualit toaster - both are overpriced and don't do the job as well as other options available. People buy them for the name and then spend lots of time justifying them.

Everyone I know who has an Aga also has a regular normal oven for doing things like normal cooking in. How does an Aga manage to be so huge and have such tiny ovens.
Correct, I can also order a spare from Dualit and fix the toaster in 10 minutes. biggrin

An aga is a delightful way to heat a home, and it's no coincidence that they start to appeal to a man at precisely that time in life when he begins to spend fewer hours beside the comforting warmth of a 950W gaming PC.

We have a 4 oven gas Aga with an extra 2 induction hob module.
It’s simply fantastic. Heats the kitchen, it’s always ready to use so both convenient and time saving. It cooks food (especially meat) in a far better way than electric ovens that seem to sap all the moisture out of everything.

It costs about £60 a month in gas. We turn it off for summer and use the induction hob and an electric oven. We always can’t wait to turn it back on as autumn rolls in.

You shouldn’t turn you nose up at it until you’ve lived with one!

We have an AGA, I hate it.

It is rubbish at cooking.

It is hugely wasteful of energy.

I just spent £2k on repairs after the control board failed.
Cripes who charged you that. Not AGA I hope.

We had all the burner and thermo-control gubbins re-done by AGA for £600. Yours is gas not electric? Though the installer did joke, and I thought it was a joke at the time, that they fit the same controller and burner be it a two oven like ours, or the four oven, they just charge twice as much for the four oven. Perhaps not a joke, installer was from AGA Wirral.

This just goes to show that there are plenty of ways of cooking a cat.

No myth involved, just fact. Those with a less refined set of tastebuds obviously won’t notice, peasants. biggrin

You can cook food from any direction with alloy baffle plates, you cannot do that in a Leckie one.

As many say, use the correct technique and produce better food.
