I'll start a build thread for anyone interested.
How's it going/gone?
I don’t want to post out of place, but I do know it’s underway smile
Excellent. Yours too?
Build contract signed yesterday, YAY!!

Original start date was 14 September but I’ve secured a 6 month rental starting on the 7th August so the builder is now hoping he can start mid August. I’ll know for sure in the next few days.

Still sorting out which kitchen supplier but Mrs G and I have the design sorted so that’s just a case of who can come in at the right price.

Can’t wait now!

Apologies, I had completely forgotten about this post!

Yes, we're underway. I've decided against documenting the build but safe to say we're happy with the progress so far and all looks to be running on-time..

We completed our early '19.

Very happy with most of it, just the finish leads a bit to be desired.

We were in such a rush to move in and get shot of the builders we let loads slide that we really shouldn't have. The good news is you stop seeing it eventually hehe

Just a gentle bump to see how you guys are getting on, if you don't mind, have you a rough £/Sqm?

Soon looking to start going down this weekend route ourselves, and trying to get as much research & learning under my belt as I can!

We've got planning for a very similar extension - double height at the side (where our front door is) basically to move the stairs from the middle of the house so it can all be opened up. We're not building over the garage as the house in linked detached. Back will be pulled out and an extra room and shower room behind the garage.

We're being warned to expect quotes in the £4K per sq metre region!
