Have you asked the local planning authority what they’re doing about it?

I can't say I have, it's not local to me, but up the road from other family.

It’s a development I pass regularly whilst out on the push iron, and live about a mile from. There’s an ongoing saga I see reported in the local press of enforcement, appeal, decision, appeal and repeat. I’ve lost track of current status but it’s still there. I’ve seen interviews with buyers of the development that seem in a bad way financially over it all as well which though it tugs the heartstrings doesn’t make the size any more in keeping.

Latest I can find is that the public inquiry into an appeal against an enforcement notice requiring demolition the entire development was due to take place on March 24 but has been postponed due to Covid-19.

Good update. Sounds like a success, it's currently and area of greenbelt farm land, well over looked on all sides including from that road, with only odd small cottages and farms. It's abo the least sympathetic development they could have designed.

Didn't mean to derail the topic either, back to the op?

Agree, the scale of the houses and their design looks pretty dreadful. It’ll be interesting to see what the inspector decides in due course. It looks like the site was previously covered in agricultural-type buildings, sheds etc but the council was persuaded that five large detached houses was acceptable. However, the developer deviated from the approved plans in terms of siting of two of the dwellings and the height. Officers recommended approval for a retrospective application to resolve the situation but councillors booted it out and served an enforcement notice requiring total demolition!
