Planning through for my plot, starting the proper drawings this week;

It'll be my first ASHP instillation and I'm keen to get into it to be honest. It'll be a selling point and I really want to use this one as a learning curve but seeing as it's my first I'll be using the suppliers for back-up/guarantee.

I must admit I'm really concerned about some of the problems you can get with it. Construction will be as standard as you can get with block cavity and a block and beam ground floor, then insulation and UFH with a specific screed on top. Rads upstairs.

Looking forward to learning all about it but not going to lie, there's nerves as well!
It looks a nice place.

What will you be using for hot water? Where is the buffer thank? What size heatpump are you planning?

Buffer tank is planned to be in the cylinder cupboard with the hot water tank,

We moved house just before the 2020 lockdown, that has a ASHP instead of the oil-fired system at our old place. The house is a bit bigger but the electric bills seemed higher in proportion, even with the room thermostats set at 18c.

In each of the two pump services since moving in, we have had the thermostat turned down for the hot water, with no noticeable effect on the delivery. Plus points are a reduction in electricity, plus the damn thing hasn't been firing up at 3am and waking Mrs L.

If you are stuck with a ASHP, this might be a useful thing to save some money. Apologies if this is a repetition.

Any knowledgable PHers able to offer a view on a choice between LG, Grant or Warmflow?

A lot of the reviews I read suggest Grant machines are pretty good, but I struggle to find much on Warmflow. LG by comparison are a brand I'm very familiar with, but I have no reference for a heat pump.

Cheers,
