Yeah, paid almost £440 for 500 litres 2 weeks ago by an independent outfit and got quoted 734 all in for 1000 litres last Friday by Goff. Couldn’t resist. I ordered and it got delivered today. Certainly wouldn’t be needing oil before next winter now. I have a sneaky feeling it’ll get cheaper still!

Just had the £200 credited to our Eon account. I know this is a dumb question but how do the government know I have a oil fired boiler?
Presumably all they need to know is you don’t have gas heating?

They don't. But they do know you don't have a gas meter.

I was thinking about this. So if you have an ASHP or a GSHP, both which are run off electricity, and no oil or gas, you would also be getting the £200?

We were transferred over from Bulb to Octopus last month for electric only as we're on oil for heating.

We've not received our £200 credit for alternative fuels as yet, is any one else still awaiting this payment? Was expecting this credit by now.

I know people with EDF & others who were with Bulb (transferred to Octopus) and they have all been paid so i'd get chasing both of you. (EDF paid into bank account, Octopus as credit to account)
All companies are indicating to MSE that they have now paid who they should have so you might need to apply or just kick them for forgetting about you

BG finally credited it to my electric account on the 1st of March

Read this https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/governmen...

page 8, the hot links at the bottom.

The first link is Primary data source for the "off gas postcodes" and perhaps your postcode isn't "off gas" even though you are.

The second link is a 1Gb download of every postcode in the UK and what flavour gin you like and whether you have your toilet roll with paper backwards or forwards. Perhaps in there is some gas info, but my laptop nearly died when I tried to open it.

Personally I'd open a support ticket with my elec supplier and perhaps screenshot a bill showing solely elec supply . Or maybe a photo of your meter cabinets...... or a photo of a kerosene supplier's invoice ???

Brent crude price has dropped by around 10% in the last week to around $74 which is good news if it stays there or continues to reduce.

What is surprising is that heating oil has dropped by a similar percentage in the last week. Boiler Juice quoting 62p per litre today in South Gloucestershire. It will be interesting to see what price the Oil Club offer in their weekly e-mail tonight.

I like playing with large datasets, the first link looks quite nice geocoded and shown on a map of the UK

Lovely graphic.

Me, I just see the zeros and ones tumbling downwards, but I'm sure it makes a nice image..... smile

Overlay with lack of Deliveroo and you have a fantastic Pearson correlation coefficient.

no, I've lost the room, haven't I.

Anyhow, get started on that other data set. I dare you. make something pretty

Homefuels quoting 63ppl = 66ppl with tax

So my local supplier will almost certainly be sub 60ppl with tax.

And who said life was getting more expensive?
When it hits 50ppl I'm filling my tank with 1500litres.

Anyone going shopping, I imagine - prices are escalating for most things.

Fortunately not oil at the moment, thank goodness. Hopefully the down trend continues.

That seems like a good price target to shoot at. Which price trackers do people use? Thinking of something I can point IFTTT at to trigger an alert when oil reaches a price I'm happy with.
