Seeing this thread being updated, I've just checked my local (usual) supplier here in Hants and they're 74.5ppl inc VAT for 1,000 litres.

I mean, cheaper than my last order, but still seems I'm in "Saw-you-coming-Shire" compared to some of the quotes on here!

Ordered 1300 litres from our local supplier at 65p, the same as The Oil Club but 3p dearer than Boiler Juice.

The big difference is that the local supplier delivers on time whereas the other two use Certas -- enough said!

Our local company have sorted us out with next day delivery before now (before we bought the little meter for the tank and run out by mistake) but now we just call them with a few days notice and they usually deliver with 3-4 days. We don't even need to be about when they do it.

Just got 1000 litres from Rix at 69.9p plus VAT.

I was hoping to catch the guy delivering to ask him how the filing of my tank works.
He’s got to roll out a hose , maybe 50 yards long which is empty, then pump 1000 litres into my tank, what happens to all of the oil in the 50 yard hose ?

Maybe this is a question for “ things you’ve always wanted to know the answer to “ thread scratchchin

Flow is controlled at the far end of the hose. So it's pulled out full, they fill your tank, and then it's wound back in still full.

It won't make any difference unless they have some way of emptying the hose after every fill.

Is that incl. VAT?

Good price regardless. 61ppl ex VAT here at the moment - a lot cheaper than it's been for a while, but still a good chunk higher than my 11yr rolling average.

No sorry we claim it back - would be just over 60p with the VAT I guess.

Also paid 73p for red diesel if that's of any interest to anyone.

The price from local suppliers here in Bedfordshire has jumped 4p ex VAT in the space of 2 hours from 60 to 64ppl on a 15 day delivery.
With the weather getting warmer, I won't need any now until June so hopefully the price comes down again....

I too also use the same ‘big local supplier’ - almost always cheapest, and usually get a delivery within 24 hours, or even sooner!

Just ordered 1000 litres for £656, York, North Yorkshire. BJ were £5 cheaper than NRG comparing their cheapest prices, and a day earlier.

Ordered 500 litres from Your NRG and like all suppliers, I suspect they placed a 'hold' on the payment with my bank.

Now as they hadn't completely taken the money (10 day delivery) the bank put it back into my available balance a few days later. Not a problem as I knew it was to be paid on delivery.

Couple of days after delivery I get the usual email invoice and it's marked 'PAID'. Checked bank and it hadn't been paid.

So I called them and paid over the phone, checked bank a couple of days later and they had taken the payment twice.

Called them and they refunded -within 3-5 working days- but no apology or sorry any thing.

Just though I'd warn people because not everyone has the funds sitting in their current account to pay twice without it possibly causing a problem.

I am in two minds right now, we have half a tank of oil left (1200L tank) more than enough to see us through the rest of the colder/milder weather and the summer and probably the start of winter. Do I wait it out or top it off now?
