Thank you , but it’s the previous owners work to make it look as it does , I’ve just kept on top of it but modified the paved areas and outside buildings to suit our life styles .

Mum's garden in Surrey, and the rhododendrons are going ballistic!

As the purple ones fade, these pink ones emerge, followed by red and white. Just lovely.

Finally got around to ditching 6 water timers dotted all over the garden supplying different areas ( water pressure not enough to do everything all at once) to one Gardena master timer which operates a Gardena manifold that opens and closes up to 6 different zones in conjunction with the Master timer. Also incorporated an inline dosing feeder.

Anyone got a clue about how I can fit greenhouse glass but without walkable access around the outside of the greenhouse?

Think I might have fked up. Local primary offered up a greenhouse that'd fit perfectly in a south facing alcove I've got behind the garage. When I say perfectly, I mean about 100mm either side.

Gone to dismantle it today, and have had the realisation the glass fits from the outside...

Other half has her heart set on having it, so need to find a solution!

Just Bodge some twin wall polycarbonate in there. If it's snug against something does it need anything?

Cut flowers taken from bits of the bush not really visible.

Everything coming along nicely now, mixed borders full of flower and the rhododendrons are stunning. Incidentally I've read people on other groups saying they're no good for bees. Mine are full of honey bees, bumble bees and hover flies. Perhaps the exception that proves the rule? wink

Do you have enough space to built it out of the alcove then just roll it in on broom handles?

You can glaze each vertical strip (IYSWIM) in turn, starting at the back and reaching through the next strip to access it. It'll be a faff but not impossible unless you're built like Arnie. In which case, use child labour.biggrin

A bit of advice from those more in the know please .
As nice as this rhododendron looks it’s well out of control , the flowers are to high to really see .
When should I be looking at cutting right back , how far down ?
We will be staying in the house long term so I’m willing to make the sacrifice now in order to reap the benefits in years to come , it’s a good ten feet high at least and I’ll post a pic with my hand in for some scale of the trunk , it’s more of a tree than a bush now
Cheers for any advice

More flowers. Alliums growing through roses.

My garden has a slightly wild look to it that rewards some laziness...

Pots coming through too!

Start your apprentice-slaves young, I say.

Yeah I put mine in a corner (built the base before having the same thought)…

I fitted the far side of the roof then carried the greenhouse into its final location. Then fitted the panels vertically from the inaccessible corner outwards by reaching around as someone else mentioned.

It took a while and I had no finger tips left but it’s doable.

Thanks. This weekend involved clearing the spot at the back of the garage. It's been a dumping ground these last four years...

Next up is leveled gravel grid base, before wood frame. Then onto figuring out how to reassemble what I disassembled! New bolts/t nuts/glazing springs on order...

When you say wood frame, do you mean under the greenhouse? I ask because the greenhouse we got with our house had a wood frame under that rotted so the door jammed. If you can fit it with something longer lasting then do.

Yeah, that's why I'm doing gravel grids underneath, so it'll never be sat in water. I'll also use fence posts, with additional ronseal oil based treatment.

Tbh, this whole thing is a monumental pain in the arse. It's taking up more time than I'd like when I should be working down the allotment getting that in good order for next year - and crucially it's going where I was planning a pergola and outdoor kitchen (with shiny new bbq and argentine grill)...

However, it'll absolutely keep my other half happy, and her happy is worth it. Within reason!

Also made a table of Succulents, which hardly need any maintenance.
