I've been doing some work in the garden too, it's one of those projects where you set out to do something simple and you realise you need to do something else first, and something else before that; and suddenly it's turned into a big project!
My mission is to simplify the garden as much as possible to reduce maintenance work.
I started last year by removing 100 tons of earth from the bottom of the garden to get rid of an overgrown raised border, filled in a large pond, pulled out an old fence and planted a laurel hedge, then installed a robot mower.
Now I'm working on the courtyard. It's surrounded by overgrown borders. The plan is to install membranes and slate chippings, but I miss the pond so I'm going to put a much smaller one in the courtyard. So now I'm busy digging out the borders, laying underground electric cables, and removing tree stumps; which is hard work but very satisfying when they come out!
Gives me plenty to do while we're cooped up. I'll post up some pics if anyone's interested.

To chop up the massive pile of branches I’d made clearing the trees. Excellent bit of kit, felt way safer than a normal chainsaw and cheap to buy too. Managed to get it all into trailer but nowhere to take it now as dumps shut.

Our garden has been a long time annoyance in a way to me. It’s a reasonable size but I’ve no idea what I’m doing in it and always have grand plans but don’t get round to them as I’ve no idea how to.
So, this week I made a list of the bigger jobs, and started to work out way through them. Started by trimming some of the taller climbing roses, which I don’t mind if we kill as most are in ridiculous places, and started to cut out all the small trees that the squirrels create by planting stuff.
Need to give the furniture some tlc and treat the patios. Bigger jobs is to rip out the border at the front of the house which has been on the cards for three years but never had the time, guess i don’t have that excuse at the moment!

Plus it's absolutely exhausting. I understand now while all lumberjacks are built like brick outhouses.
And I'll be having some buttered scones for tea.

gave it a good deep scarify in both directions and seem to have cleared pretty much all the moss as far as I can see. Any recommendations for a seed and feed? 
I got a tip from a mate about a local seed / stuff like this supplier who supplies golf courses and sports fields. Big industrial unit, huge range. The type of place you'd never think to go because it looks like overkill. gave it a good deep scarify in both directions and seem to have cleared pretty much all the moss as far as I can see. Any recommendations for a seed and feed? Anyway, went along one day and they were unbelievably helpful, educated a novice like me for 10 mins, and sold me £40 of stuff that filled my boot and transformed my lawn. Long story short, see if there's a local seedsmen mob and try them.

Cheers! Will have a chat to the green keeper at my local golf club club who lives up the road.
