Lovely. Not much to grumble about there (although someone will find it!)

Ridiculously long drive way. Deal breaker.

Nothing wrong with a long driveway - as long as you have a suitable vehicle or staff to take the bins out to the roadside every week.

Being really picky about it, if the three additional cottages on the estate are occupied then it's a shared driveway, and they are beyond the main house so would have to drive past the front of your house to get to theirs.

There also appears to be a couple of publc footpaths across the land, including one across the field immediately behind the houses, and another that uses part of the driveway, limiting your ability to turn it into a private hillclimb course...

Public footpaths through the estate would, for me, be a no no.

This is perfect.

Perhaps a little redecoration to suit my more youthful taste. but I'm saving a million over my previous choice below...

That is lovely indeed. It just needs some more garaging, but that shouldn't be hard to sort.

Very nice indeed, and lot of house for the money, with a really well-executed extension. Set up for kids' sleepovers, I notice. Only the big new block next door that may impinge, but school's across the road for Hamish & Jocasta, I think.

Yes, the Overlook family, I believe.

Nicely done, but I'm not sure why it has so many kitchens.

And the Onlooker family as well.

It's what you get in the city.

Both, I reckon. Has [i]Grand Designs[/] written all over it.

Spiralling budget

Weather damage
'Unexpected' Pregnancy
Bigger mortgage
Triumphant completion

Very astute observation. You aren't actually Kevin are you?

You missed the project management by the owner.
