As long as the garage is dry that would be superb. You'd have to have a garage door wrap with Thunderbird 2 on it though!

the below has come up in my local area, and whilst I appreciate its not quite pawn in terms of the thread, its a realistic aspiration for me. I read this thread and see some valid criticism, so would really appreciate if someone could tell me why this is good bad or indifferent

Not much to criticise witrh that one. Looks really homely to me, I'm assuming a nice neighbourhood too. Maybe half a kilometre from the M3 isn't ideal given we get westerly winds a lot, but I think for most people that wouldn't be a dealbreaker, I'd assume the noise would be a background hum. If you want real silence I think you'd have to move deep into the country and you'd have to deal with all the drawbacks of that.

Big garden if you like gardening, decent garages. The more I think about it the more I like it. I see that by the looks of it at some point there was an entyrance hallway, and now you come straight into the living room, that's maybe the only downside? And I'm not even sure it's a downside. There's certainly nothing I'd want to change before moving in other than a lick of paint.

Not 'impressive' enough for the money was my first and lasting impression.

Ooft. I wonder how much the view adds on to the price.

I have previously lived in and around Camberley several times before, and the town is a good example of a place that is still in need of an injection of taste and investment. Notwithstanding, it has a station and some very nice properties, this being one. I like it, and it's well situated in a nice part of town.

Criticisms - all I can see superficially is that access into the garages looks very tight! The décor is dated, but that won't be your problem, although the artex ceilings, the bedroom sink unit and that awful fireplace in the sitting room would need attention. The orangery looks like a PVC thing so might be either redders or Baltic, but it looks OK. Overall, a thumbs-up, noting home counties pricing.
I grew up locally and can honestly say that this house is in a nice location for Camberley, but you will still hear traffic hum from the M3 as you will in most locations where the houses are decent.
The town center isn't what it used to be, but that could probably be said of most places, including Guildford.
The station isn't on a main line, so the journey time into London is long for the distance covered.

About £3m...it's a lovely spot and the views from there are fantastic as can virtually see down to the coast but that's a hell of a premium

The boot room doesn't have a shower for when you come in soaking from a bike ride or a dog walk.

Erm, that's about it. (HDR pictures aside.)

I don't know the local area, but there seems to be plenty of golf around...

It's Ok'ish but I really wouldn't want that to be paying that sort of money for an approach that's through a housing estate.

Having spent the past 6 weeks at my girlfriend's place in France, and using the pool first thing in the morning, I think I'm easily swayed by anything with a pool biggrin.

I'd also like to see pics of the garage they talk about.

That's near me, a friend and his family went to see it when it was first listed. The problem (for them) is that it's a house and a converted barn and the two are separate - downstairs at least (upstairs has an adjoining door). His kids loved the idea of being away from the parents as you essentially have 2 dwellings, he and his wife however were not so sure. The house part of it also needs renovation, which the pareticulard don't seem to highlight.

It's possibly a planning restriction, IIRC it's just inside the National Park so they might have been obliged to provide 'holiday' accommodation rather than make one big house to overcome restictions (there are a lot of restrictions on barn conversions in the Dales).
You could possibly alter it yourself of course, but my friend's feeling was that it would always feel like 2 houses and without a lot of work you'd have a lot of small rooms downstairs not doing very much.

The house is great but not sure on the area myself for £1 million. Edge of a council house road and the A517 is a death trap.

It's the main road into Swaledale so it's rammed from Easter to October with croc-wearing Baby Boomers in oversized camper vans they can't park biggrin

Huh, my grandad used to live just up the road from Seaton, really fond memories of that beach when I used to go to visit him as a child.

When I win tonight I'll buy it biggrin hehe

Always loved this house for its position, and amenities of the village, without the ballache of the congestion.
