How much must that ceiling weigh?

I'd put an offer in but in the description at the side it says 'No Parking" so unfortunately I'll have to pass. 12 acres and nowhere to put my Shed of the Week.

They only went and dammed a bit of the ocean to create the pond out front, by the look of it.

The map location on the Zillow ad is not in the right location. If you go up the road and do street view you can see the garages beyond the gates. The owner of the house doesn't live there and has only thrown a couple of parties. He did buy it for under $9M as a bargain. Probably because the market for massive houses in Mahwah is not existent.

My mind must just be wired differently. If I'm buying an 8 million quid castle, and had the associated wealth that goes with it, skirting quadrant wouldn't register with me neither would the kitchen. I mean, it's not my taste either, but I know I'd be replacing it, so - *shrug*

As for passing harsh judgement - taste is personal and subjective.
Kind of ironic you posting that when you're happy to offer an opinion on the trainers thread laugh

I'm clearly not wealthy enough to understand why you would want or need two ensuites to your master bedroom.
Presumably there are planning reasons why there are no windows in the North/South faces of the house? Those rooms at each end feel a bit compromised because of it.
I suspect that there are a lot of women who'd be more than happy not to have to share 'their' bathroom with their husbands hehe

If we are talking about north of the border, this is my call. Dont need to convince the wife.
The house is tidy enough, with planning for another. And all the land aswell. But that location. So much want.

that actually took my breath away - stunning (I liked the proposed new build too)

Blokes too! wink

When we finally do our dream self build, it'll be fairly modest - but each side of the master bedroom will have their own dressing room and en suite. Partly as we have very different interior design tastes for these things, and partly as no matter how much storage or organisation I create in our current dressing room theres piles of laundry on top of chests of drawers and dirty clothes strewn over the floor. None mine!

That’s lovely. Need to be committed to living literally in the middle of nowhere though.

I spent some time in Tomdoun as a kid. Lovely part of the world, but echo the comments about it being near nowhere.
