They must have run out of funds when it came to the "grass". There's some quite decent, realistic looking grass you can get and they go with that...
It's probably a very expensive Wilton shag pile carpet hehe
As mentioned above - it’s not the usual there so he has probably had some ground work done recently. He is certainly not the type to settle for an old 5 a side “strip your skin off in a sliding tackle” bit of plastic grass : D

other flats listed for similar money. it mentions co-op not sure what that means?
American flats are a bit wierd I think coop is worse and more restrictive than our leasehold flats.

Edit -

Bizarre!

Yeah, I figured there must be some weird stuff going on. Imagine it's the sort of place you need to be "approved" by the block in order to buy in.

Great little place though, and what an insane outside space - actual keys to the park.

It's one room with 2 windows for $450k isn't it?

Yes. A pretty nice room with two windows - and it's in Manhatten, with great roof terrace and the keys to a bloody park.

Can't help but think similar in London would be significantly more money.

Why in god's name do you need 21 bathrooms?

Nice setting through.
think thats for the entire estate. its also listed separately as a 5 bed / 10 bath for a mere $29m

some cracking properties in that area, albeit some which don't make the most of the setting. 'll take this one please:

Love that. My ideal country house is modern, as I live in an old house in town and would want a total change.
I hear you, doing a big refurb not far from you, but LT plan is to move out of London one day, buy a plot of land and build something similar to this,

Admirable sens of style albeit not exactly how I would do it (of course), very good sense of style, but a lot of sq ft spent on halls and landings. Will look a lot better with mature trees around it

Ours is to stay in London, but build something like this on a smaller scale for school holidays and eventual retirement. I can pretty much WFH during hols I think, but want to be in the city most of the time.

This is just down the road from my parents house. My dad can’t stand it, and likes to tell me every time we drive past it. I actually quite like it. The scale of the house is odd though, it looks too big to me. It’s on a nice big plot, about 8 acres I think, but it has been for sale for a couple of years, and I think compared to other £2-£3million houses in the area, you’re getting a reasonable amount for your money.

There’s a house on Lady Byron Lane, for example, really close to the M42, which should (IMO) be in the nightmare property thread, for £3million! Like a footballers mansion.
If on 8 acres why on earth did they build it so near the road?

It's where I lived when I lived in NYC. Great area. My friends own a 3 bed apartment there, worth an absolute fortune today.

It's built on farmland, maybe that's the only bit solid enough to build on. The lower field might have had problems with the drainage - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNuV0W9upTI

That is a steal, even with the $1256/month maintenance fee. Stayed in he hotel round the corner a couple of years ago, it’s a great area. Quite a famous little pad too - would be an awesome little bolt hole.

It is very flat around there and the small lanes quite often flood in the winter. It’s an odd house anyway. The scale of it is absolutely massive for what it is. The ceilings must be 15ft high!

And of course there’s always problems with the drainage in the lower field , Ted!

Am I due a whoosh or is the cartel boss reference because this is the house used in Breaking Bad?! It does remind me of it.

It's only six acres, which isn't really a lot as fields go. The house is almost central in the plot, but takes up nearly half the width of it.

Largely irrelevant since it's the building, not the furniture, that's for sale.

That said, it's clear that if there's an opportunity to sit down, there's no shortage fo somewhere to park an arse or 10.... lazy fking Scots, eh, TheJimi? wink

I thought it was a bit on the expensive side until I saw those washing machines.

Interestingly the ad has prior transaction history and the previous sale was in 2010 for $140,000. The house was built in 2015.

The estate is 3500 acres, I suspect the sale price in 2010 wasn't for the whole estate or is a mistake. The site also has predicted rental of $3500 a month - you pay around $1M a year in property tax and insurance alone so clearly that's absurd.

Considerably less p*rn than the $100m US offers above, but having rented the glass balconied cottage on the right in photo1, twice, I've probably walked past this a dozen times, thinking it was some kind of run down boat/sail store:
