I am amazed that you can produce "1,200 to 1,500 bottles a year" from a 3 acre plot!
A low yield per hectare (2.5 acres) would be around 3,300 bottles. But that's in a wine-growing area. I'd expect the yield here to be lower or (and) the wine might noit be very good.

Interesting, cheers. I think the vineyard is probably quite a bit smaller than 3 acres as there is also a house and garden to fit in. If this year's French freeze is as bad as rumoured we will be glad to have some Bristolian plonk.

I've had some decent wines from the chalk downs on the south coast, but Bristol's a bit further north than that...

My regular dog walk is through a chalk south downs vineyard.

I'm surprised at the volume they'll be producing though!

FYI. The original grey stone keep (the Old Castle, dating from 1174 and believed to be one of if not the oldest inhabited private buildings in the UK) top left is still inhabited and not part of the sale.

To be fair, I don't think you'd see/hear much from those neighbours - behind massive and thick walls as they are!

We've had this one before (it's been on sale since last June). When you look on the map the position vis the road and neighbouring houses is a lot worse than the agent pics imply.

I would imagine there is ever present road noise from Portway below as well.

But they could still taunt and throw things at you.

Aw yiss.

Some interior tweaking to my taste and that would be tremendous.
One of the nicest we’ve had on here for some time, against often strong competition too cloud9

Ideal if looking for large house without the '000 arces to look after and close to amenities. Not too sure on the prison gym though....

Only recently done, amazed it wasn't converted into apartments

Cracking building, but I hate the location.

...but not for the reasons you might think.

I hate large, comparatively opulent houses nestled in the middle of a normal residential area. For me, it's incongruous and I'd feel like I was sticking out like a sore thumb.

There's a place like that near me. Large mansion, stunning place, and it's literally in the middle of a council estate.

Yes and is owned by a dear old friend of mine. He had a nice silver racing e-type when I saw him last.

I love looking at some of these fantastic properties, definitely Lottery winning money for me though. I always wonder, if I was lucky and decided to buy a property like these shown, how much would it cost to furnish it? The furniture in my modest 3 bed semi wouldn't even touch the sides!
