Glorious part of the world. Comes second on my current search after this, which has a funny layout, but I still like it:

(My search is >£1m, <8 bedrooms, Devon, sorted by newest listed.)

None of those houses are in West Wales wink

And there's a reason houses are cheap this side of Offa's Dyke. Without getting too political, the economy doesn't lend itself to expensive housing.
I'm from Cardiff its all west Wales that way laugh

We were discussing the economy around that area the other day. Average houses with nice cars got me wondering what people do for a living.

Nice hiliday home area though.

Quite like this:

https://search.savills.com/property-detail/gbpersp...

It's away from the midgies & tourists (although the Cateran Trail is just the far side of the burn).

The layout is a bit odd.
That extension is fantastic
Yep, perfectly complements the main house. This one ticks lots of boxes for me

One man's meat is another man's poison. I don't see the appeal of the area at all.

Wrong side of the Avon estuary for me, but otherwise perfect, so, go on then...

Added search criteria for me is 10mile radius from Kingsbridge.

Any particular reason (out of curiosity)? Granted Newton Abbot is, er, Newton Abbot biggrin, but having Dartmoor on your doorstep and the South Hams close by is enough to make up for it!

Devon?

It's the 3rd largest County, with the 3rd lowest population density. (Behind Cumbria and North Yorkshire on both counts.) Being in the South, the weather is appreciably better than both of them.

We have two fairly different National Parks, two fairly different coasts, and mostly rolling countryside for the rest of it. Lots of locally sourced food of pretty much all varieties, and nearly every town has some kind of Sausage 'n' Cider festival too.

We have two mainline routes to London if you need it, and providing you avoid Sat morning and Sun evening the M5 and A303 provide very reasonable road links to he rest of the country too. Exeter airport used to be pretty hand for getting around the UK too, but what happens over the next few months will be interesting to see how much of that comes back.

There's lot's to like about Devon, but if you want a big city, Exeter and Plymouth aren't huge I suppose. No iMax cinema, that's for sure.

I spent 4 days last week based in Plymouth. Didn't expect to, but rather liked it.

I agree - Plymouth is underrated.

It does take a long time to get there, mind!

Not us, sadly. Long discussion ended with us staying in London for the foreseeable.

We like it here too much and actually, being near the office is helpful even with some working from home.
