Very nice indeed. Handy for watching the Marlow Rowing Club too, I guess.

It could do with a really good, sympathetic updating.

Marlow Rowing Club is actually the other (higher) side of the weir from this house (if the map is accurate). The crews do drop down through the lock to the lower reach quite often but would go the other side of the island.
I may have rowed for Marlow back in the day.

Not as grand as some of the pawn on this thread, but a lovely riverside house.

Ah, yes, I'd read my bridges wrong. Apologies.

That stretch of water is used by the scouts from Longridge Activity Centre.

The property is immediately adjacent to the activity centre, with the bedroom windows overlooking it, right on the property boundary.

It's also £2M for a small boathouse with a flat above.

Pretty, but even in Marlow and even on the river I can't think of that as good value.

If rowing is your thing, I believe Chris Evan's place right next door to the rowing club will be on the market soon......he's barely lived there 5 mins though confused

Just down the road from me (a mate's fields border the property) - the house isn't anything at all, but the setting is amazing; 8 acres of woodland and 2 acres of paddock set back from a minor road.
Perfect for a knock-down and rebuild and has had over 100 viewings and several offers already, having been on the market just over a week. Guided at £375k but will fetch a bit more I suspect:

There might be antisocial idiot in blue M2C who drives along that road occasionally (like last Sunday) whistle

I know this is a pawn thread, but real world, that's a fantastic plot in a lovely location. Good spot that.

The only problem is the selling agent who is dreadful to deal with. No doubt it will turn into a huge ordeal for the end purchaser sadly.

There might be another idiot who does the same in a GT86 - it's quite a good road in the right car although you need to watch out for the packs of cyclists.... smile

Just had a call from a friend who's putting a bid in, he's looking at £400k and I told him he'll probably need to be a fair bit higher than that, given the interest and the rarity of a plot like that round here.

Is this the ultimate PH house? The garages are bigger than the house. What a guy!
Nice sized plot, smashing garages, sterile bungalow.

The plot is amazing, but I'm willing to bet whoever puts a house on that plot will build an oversized, personality free, crass, tragedy of a place. Ugh.

Me? Bitter about not being able to buy it? No m8, must be someone else biggrin

Indeed. There are now bidders in 'double figures' according to the local rumour mill. At least 2 of the bidders I know have deep pockets and will be looking to extract profit.

I'll be keeping an eye on what happens and will report back to the thread but I suspect this may turn out to be a wasted opportunity to build something truly special.
It's a shame because this time next year I might well be in the position where I could have bid high for the plot and done something really interesting (and sympathetic). But not yet sadly frown

Is it on the lock side or on Quarry Wood road itself? Doesn't seem to be too many grim things there? Then I am used to seeing Surrey 'plots' where the identical mansion from Octagon gets built and its incredibly boring.

Lots of potential still in that. Bit windswept for me (and the wrong end of Yorkshire wink )
Too many neighbours... wink

Completely off grid, 6kw wind plus generators and biomass boilers. Can imagine maintenance is not cheap

Place across the road has gone up, a lot of the work pretty recently done too. Near identical place next door to it is a building site and has been for a long time, which would put me off a little. Before anyone does some googling and asks, no, it wasn’t my place that got shot not that long ago hehe
Price is a little steep.
