Weird they want to flog it, only finished it the other year it seems? (obviously as a cyclist you'll know that it's a house you see every single time you ride into Surrey hehe).

Wayne Bridge. His wife is on I'm a celebrity at the moment. They redeveloped it a few years back now, it was more of a traditional arts and crafts type place before
This amused me. Ok, so he didn't win the world championship, but the poor chap didn't even get to the nationals...

biggrin

Who are the celeb owners? Footballer?
Chris Tarrant then his ex, according to Google. This was about 10 years ago so there may have been more since.
They lived at Hatchford Hall until 2008, it's below, it's next door to this new place which was only built in 2017.

Indeed, my property wish list is made up of houses and areas that I cycle past! Think they will struggle at that price, there's another place between there and the A3 that's been on for ages at the same money.

Hint of the Bond villain lair / Frank Lloyd Wright about it.
I'd love that place.
Me too. Fantastic.

Lovely spot - but that flat roof, with all those trees and frequent rain makes me think it would be leaking most the time....

Needs a fair bit doing to it as well, plus a damp issue.

But lovely location!

Surely you’d just level the concrete monstrosity and build something decent on the plot.

Quite. I really like that part of the world too, hence my interest. The “Park Home” development wasn’t the reason I rejected it when Savills contacted me last week, though it does affect the value.

This was an interesting one in Rosemount.

That's a cracker. And far easier to heat than the Savills one, I'd imagine. Good luck with the hunt. Not sure how deep your local knowledge goes, but if I can help at all, just shout.
Many thanks - that’s very kind. I have a place in Stirling and friends in Blairgowrie / Bridge of Cally, but any extra local knowledge would help. I have a twenty mile radius search set up, centred on Pitlochry.

Oh, and believe me - I know all about heating costs!

Interesting stuff, AZ, although I guess there’s an element of finding uses for rooms that you have rather needing them for those specific purposes.

Anyway who said that Scottish (and Irish) houses were taste vacuums? Other than missing a couple of en suites this looks great to me

This looks good value - what would it cost to actually build similar (style, materials and finish)?

400 sqm, pick your £/sqm but I wouldn't think it's below £3k for a reasonable spec finish at the moment? That said, £1.2 mm before you acquire land or do much else seems like a lot though.

Quite, if they're doing something as heinous as this, what else are they hiding?

I have to add this:

https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/108302459#/...

It's only about 5 miles from the centre of Sheffield - really isolated, desolate and cold, but in a fantastic setting.

I went in this property about 30 years ago and it never seems to look any more ‘done’ but I doubt £1 million would see it completed to the level it deserves.
scruffy git, make the bloody bed. It's not like the EA turned up unannounced!

Looks like a student's room so you're lucky they managed to pick up their crusty wk socks from under the bed.
