Yeah been on here about 3 months ago nice but it's Lincolnshire, I'd want an awful lot more of it for that money. hehe

It's a tough sell - to whom and why?

It's a nice place, but I'm not sure it's special or cheap enough to lure a wealthy incomer who wants to live in Spalding.

Exactly.
Before I moved to Lincolnshire I bought a copy of the local paper to get a feel for the place. I looked at the court report page and it seemed that every third crime happened in Spalding.

I didn't move to Spalding.

Nice wine cellar. Some cars to identify under the covers?
4 car garage external and 16 car integrated garage!
I posted that before and got shot down in flames because of the naff round tower. I still like it.
The living and bedrooms reminds me of rental ski chalets.
Smacks of an American ski resort with that dreadful ‘feature’ tower, pine overload and Flintstone fireplace.
I remember being indifferent to this last time around, however on second viewing that is actually quite appealing. A lot of the interior finishes are not to my taste but easily remedied.

It’s a good size without being excessive. You can’t argue with that garage space and a relatively manageable 11 acres. I’d buy the gatehouse cottage just to get the further double garage! smile

I love that....

At my level you count bedrooms in the house you are going to buy.

At that level you count the houses that come with the property.

Plus an airfield.

What more could you want.
All.my wife says she wants is a 2 bed house with a garden, that has a path onto.a deserted beach.
And a view of that beach.

Unfortunately the only ones I can afford are on the isle of Arran and I don't really want to be that remote from civilisation in my future retirement.

Not at all, I was more highlighting that it isn't selling in a hurry

Interesting stuff, AZ, although I guess there’s an element of finding uses for rooms that you have rather needing them for those specific purposes.

Anyway who said that Scottish (and Irish) houses were taste vacuums? Other than missing a couple of en suites this looks great to me

The above is under offer now, but some more in the area.

I don't like everything about it, but overall, for me that is awesome. You could do a LOT with this place.

This is local to me, and I love it. I'd probably change the decor, but I love the property and it's layout.

Ideally, I'd remove the double garage and reposition it in the back garden, but conservation area plus listing might forbid.

Can't decide whether I love or hate this place! The bottom bit spoils it for me which is a shame as the top part is amazing and the interior looks superb too.

Yes the way the stonework is laid out round the small windows is an issue. Maybe fixable by putting in larger windows on the bedrooms, or maybe a balcony along them - Or that may make it look like a hotel? The inside looks great though, as it should do for that price to be fair.

The Rightmove listing has a map.... https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/72189318#/?...
Weirdly the front of house picture seems a different colour. Looks like a lot of monay has been spent on it.

It's one one of the most prestigious areas in town - very pleasant. The street has been used for quite a lot of filming of Catherine Cookson dramas. Fabulous location

It's been owned by a local businessman for years, and has stood empty for as long as I've lived here.

Photos taken in 2018 and 2021, 2018 being the last time there was a sunny day presumably.

Apologies if any of these have appeared recently.

Did the usual, bored on a zoom call/dreaming of a lottery win, so right moved houses forsale within a couple of miles and sort in price.

First one:-

https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/105385874#/...

Okay, some decor is awful, and there is possibly 2/3 pictures of Callum Best around the place, but love the overall set up.

Second:-

https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/82358954#/m...

For where it is, and how much this feels like really good value, again needs a chunk to modernise the interior but lovely place with so much potential.
