Generally it shouts "refurbishment required" to me - kitchen, windows etc. Will look pretty tatty in person and with furnishings removed. Expensive business.
Agreed. It seems very reasonably priced - cheap, even - for the size and area. But I suspect this is one of those properties where you should consider the purchase price to merely be a down-payment on the real expense that will come when you try to live in it.
I think that's the issue, you could easily spend £250k going through it to get it perfect.

Nice house and not dissimilar to a house I owned. But mine wasn't on a main road and opposite a leisure centre.
In fairness, there's nothing wrong with the leisure centre, it's only small; a couple of squash courts, a bar, kids football in the winter and cricket on the green in summer. Oh and the village hall.

It's just far too big and expensive for somewhere like Blackwater (along with the other issues noted), which by and large on the East side of the A331 is just overspill barratt home stuff, and the rest doesn't look much different from above. This is incongruous, it is the most expensive property within a mile of Camberley (which is a big area on the map) on Rightmove which speaks volumes.

That's probably the issue, although it's west of the A331 not east.

Indeed. It probably was a nice rural property with good transport links when built but is now suburban and within walking distance of an Aldi

That’s my Euromillions ticket purchase justified then.

not for sale but I was disappointed to read Menrmore Towers are classified as "at risk" and "'immediate risk of further rapid deterioration or loss of fabric',". Since the approval to convert to a hotel fell through the towers have been left to decay. The roof is now falling in and causing internal damage. This hose was made famous by Eyes wide Shut and batman Begins.

When even the Rothchilds struggle with the upkeep of a property, perhaps we should take the hint and let it go to ruins.

I read they flogged it to a Middle Eastern businessman 20-odd years ago, since when it's going to the dogs, it seems.

I very much doubt the multi-millionaire Rothschilds struggled to maintain it, they simply ditched it in 1999 to Simon Halabi, who’s neglected it ever since.

Okay, so it's modern, but house is nicely designed and kitchen I like, bedroom with outdoor balcony nicely thought....but...it's got a slide!!!

Obvious downside is that it's practically ON the A11 stty little garage and small plot. That being said...this is Pistonheads so ....slide AND a drag strip on doorstep

Quite a lot of that needs demolished - unfortunately that’s the bit you need to live in.
