Ah. Quote fail. My bad, yes the Kelso one
Haha, had to check the link I’d quoted on.
Kelso place is nice too, price presumably justified by the 11 acres, barns etc.

Cycled a lot round here, never knew of this being there. Quite the place, also possibly dump the jet at Fairoaks?

Some car collection!
Not really, if you're a multi-millionaire it does't require much imagination to buy a few Ferraris, a Bugatti with the odd Porsche or Aston thrown in. All pretty much high performance GTs. I'd say something like Harry's collection is far better having put some thought and effort into it. That's just 'boy in a sweet shop stuff' IMO. smile
Its a great collection and not to go too far off topic

Classic ferrari gt - for special occasions, certain motoring events

Bug - for luxury and speed, its an iconic car also

ENZO- I don't need to justify this amazing cars

Vantage v12 - amazing noise usable and not worth £500k+ so can take it places, everyday car possibly

Porsche gt rs - track stuff, go for a hoon, have fun and move it on for the newest version

Porsche 918 - modern, smart looking, same league as the enzo in period, more usable (not so in your face), I'd have a p1 in an ultimate collection.

Raises further questions about the value of that new build in Chigwell with the big garage.

FFS I've been scrabbling about on satellite view looking for a jet parked nearby!

Lovely. If i were going to pick holes, a bit too "beamy" inside for my tastes and 100 acres is big enough to be a pain but not big enough to have a shoot - 4 acres or 400 (or better 4,000) would be preferable.

amongst all the other great things about that property I love the garage block and the barn. God knows what the running costs are like.

I am a long way away from being able to afford almost anything that is posted here. So here is a question. Particularly some of the older properties where the furniture, fixtures and fixtures are very specific to that particular building do they sell it as a package with all the contents? It strikes me that some of the properties you would have to pay the same again to fit them out.
Thinking of things like snooker tables gyms and some specific furniture.

In large older properties the furniture was often made for a particular room and is expected to be available to the next purchaser.

In practically every house sale from the top to the bottom there's almost always a deal to be had if you want anything/everything - I sold the fridge, dishwasher and washing machine to the buyer of my first house, my parents sold several pieces of handmade 'Mouseman' furniture to the buyer of their place when they downsized.

Rarely included in the price, but sometimes available by separate negotiation. Particularly with the bigger, older houses, a lot of that stuff may not be suitable for wherever the vendor is moving to, especially if they're downsizing.

They have lots of friends from Easter to autumn, for sure. I wandered past with another several hundred people in July last year. Hayle's undergoing quite a transformation too across the estuary.

Certainly in older, larger period properties, it can be convenient to purchase the furniture as well as it could take years to find the huge amount of suitable furnishings required.

This property dates from the 13th century and the owner bought it with the furniture around thirty-five years ago. As you can see from the price, the antique furniture value’s substantial.

When I bought my pile, I was particularly excited to see on the agents details that there was a Billiards Room. Excellent, I thought. There is no way they will be buying another place with enough room for a full size snooker table. And it would be a pain to move a proper table. Therefore, I was in line for a free snooker table with the house, surely.

When I got to the Billiards Room on my first tour, there was indeed a snooker table in the room. It was four feet long - a kid's toy. The room was big enough for a full size table too. It was just being used as a kids' playroom.

Awesome. I almost don't care what the house is like as the location is so good.
