Here's where my lottery win is going: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/119092571#/... There's a nice surprise in the garage pictures!
Pic of the knife drawer is a new one (very nice though it is)
I actually like that shot - says quite a bit about the quality and custom nature of the kitchen!
We had a new kitchen recently so you just made me check and... phew, it's got dovetail jointed, oak drawers. I also like that idea but MrsB has commandeered the draws for other things, including an entire drawer for spices arranged A-Z! What's wrong with a spice rack? hehe

Hello Rich. Hope retirement is going well for you? We are currently speccing a kitchen so all these things now seem to be important: drawers with hidden cutlery sub drawers, inbuilt spice racks and knife inserts.

Agreed, nice dovetail joints not your average flat pack stuff.
As well as the custom inserts.

So when the sellers fk off with all their kitchen knives, you've got a £1,000 bill for a new drawer.

Judging by the property, I'm sure the new owners will have their own set of Sabatier knives that'll likely fit!

Doesn't everyone have a nice set of Sabatiers?

All good thanks, hasn't really hit home yet. Having wound down during lockdown it just feels like I've sort of stopped rather than the big deal I thought retirement would be. scratchchin

I'm not convinced that is a quality drawer - I wouldn't accept that panel seam down the side. And the knives look cheap. Very impractical too... the fitted cut outs are going to fill with crumbs and be hard to clean.

Do you mean you don't clean up before putting your tool away? wobble

If I didn't have kids, i'd have put an offer on this.

Okay it's not on the same scale as some, but I like cosy stuff and am a less is more type of guy. Downside is there's no parking, but I could paddleboard and surf the sandbank break at a moments notice, walk the beach every day, decent pubs around the corner....perfect for me.

Could definitely imagine a very happy life there. Like you, I am very much a less is more type of guy and have no desire at all to live in a big house. When I bought a bigger place I immediately missed my old cosier place and promptly moved "backwards" size wise.

Seafront location, good schools nearby, access to great public parks, what more could you want?

Apart from, a nice garden, a decent garage, some privacy... I'm sure there are other things! After all, this is property porn, not 'what interesting place can I fond for as little money as possible' hehe

and I'm another yes

The big country houses that so many seem to gravitate towards on here, generally leave me cold.

The concept of "p*rn" is entirely subjective, surely?
