Chatting to my neighbour, had some hedging done, doesn’t know what to do with all the ash!!!
Straight over with the chainsaw and pickup - 2 loads worth!!
Out of interest, how many m^3 do you think there is there. Have a stack of logs not too dissimilar in size to that my garden and wondered how long they’d last. (We know our very approximate consumption) Straight over with the chainsaw and pickup - 2 loads worth!!

That depends if you mean a solid m3 of wood or how many ton bags once split - the first is probably 5x more than the second
Sorry, I wasn’t clear was I !!! Yes, how many bulk bags (1m3) of split logs would you guess you might get from those lengths? Not important but interested if you knew an approximate figure? Thanks KTMsm said:
If you split them and toss them in (like the sellers do) I think you'd get at least 4 bags - from the pick up full
I’ve said before on here , I lived in France and used to load my pick up up in the log suppliers very carefully when the other ros boeufs just use to chuck the logs into a trailer , lady in the sales office always used to smile and wink at me when she measured the load up , and I’m pretty sure she didn’t fancy me . Although!
There’s a supplier around here selling bags of silver birch for £200 a bag !

Wilko used to do pick and mix - not on weight but what you could fit in the cup Although!

I'm not saying my daughters made them go bust... but they had a good go !

Hard to say, I’d guess each load is 2 dumpy bags once spit. That pile is 2 loads (so far - I’ve hardly touched the surface of what’s there so will be going back!) What i do know is that the load capacity of the L200 is a little over 1000kg. From the ‘handling characteristics’ of my truck on the short (back lanes!) way home, I would say i was considerably over that!!

On another note, I must be getting serious about ‘wood’, my Valiant moisture meter arrived this week!

I think we should get a bet going...
If you look at the size of the load bed and the length of the logs you couldn't fit to those unsplit into two bags (level with the top)
If you say each log weighed 50 kg, there's approximately 1,000 kg on that truck, a couple might be over but most of those look like they'd be under 50kg
The difference between stacking and throwing - into a bag - I suggest is more than 30%
The difference between unsplit and stacked verses split and thrown I suggest is closer to 200%
I've sold a few logs - there's a reason the dealers split them and throw them into bags. You really don't get that many

Three quarters of the way through this chap that has fallen from a neighbour's field onto the fence, blocking the footpath. Using a Stihl MS170 with a 14in bar in place of the standard 12in. It's a brilliant little tool that's been starting and running pretty much perfectly since I switched from the old premix to the more modern Aspen or Stihl Motomix fuels. You can still get MS170s for under £200 new. Mine has paid for itself many times over.
