biglaugh For sure! I see you can get a petrol Hyundai 20in for £139 now, that seems like good value but I've no idea what sort of reputation Hyundai has for saws.

Yes - good day. I owe him a few beers that’s for sure. Will arrange to get some more later in the week, he mentioned there’s a load of big holly trunks down the field smile

Good bit of kit, I used mine for several years until three years ago, I then passed it over to my lad who has continued to use the chainsaw ever since.Same with the electric log splitter.

Hope they haven't got leaves attached, they're as vicious as brambles!

The holly didn’t look that good, but got another two slightly bigger pickup loads of ash smile

I’m considering the 20” or possibly the ParkerBrand one. My ParkerBrand petrol jetwash has been excellent, plus they stock all the spares which i can’t seem to find for the Hyundai.

Looks like spares are readily available for the Hyundai 20” - also has a 3 year warranty so that’s looking like a good option.

New toy. My old x25 got nicked by a mate, so I et him keep it and bought the longer version. It was £50 from FFX on ebay with a January 20% voucher...

Will keep me warm this weekend as I attempt to split a load of horse chestnut and lime rounds. Not the best firewood, but free and I can season it for a couple of years.

One of my favourite tools to use! It just does the job it's supposed to. I've got a load of free wood, yesterday, some Hawthorn and other wood. Only a boot load, but it is an A6 estate sized boot! Most of it is forearm sized in diameter, so big enough to burn well once seasoned but not too bulky in terms of cutting to the required length.

I need a good day of sorting through a lot of my wood, and restocking in order etc.. mix up the various types of wood as well and put the new stuff at the bottom of the pile.

I do love my x27 (same thing just longer handle as I'm a longer man), goes through rounds like butter and it will get some good use this weekend as I have a load of oak to split for winter 25/26.

Me: neighbours have felled a holm oak, but I am unfit and need to split it.

Fiskars: I shall bring my A-game, then.

It is brutal - knots and branch ends are just like soft cheese. My neighbour is great, a half-Danish, Lotus addict with a penchant for power tools and axes - and recently throwing axes.

I have just acquired most of a neighbour's holm oak - much of it has been chainsawed into suitable rounds and blanks and is being left to dry for wood-turning - it has really beautiful markings on it...

the remaining pile will go into firewood and should burn well...

Today I was gifted a load of old (very old) oak, ash and pine. Collected and split this afternoon.

Split lots of wood today, and had to get the 8lb maul out for some of it.

I think I may be a bit excessive on the wood supplies for a London home...but i have a problem. I can never turn down free wood, and love processing it in the garden. Who doesn't love playing with chainsaws and axes? smile
