Technically these guys are in Lincs but on the Notts border. https://www.josa-ac.co.uk/

Fit myself and my neighbor 3 units each last year, very pleased with the installation and service.
Getting quote, cheers.

Asked if they do my area & he replied in Stevenage currently so I’m on his doorstep.

They did ours, super easy to deal with and straight talking.
Thanks, they are coming next week for a quote.

Have ordered one of those 12000 btu wall mounted integrated units for the garden room, that I've seen a few others have installed. Should be delivered tomorrow so will fit it over the weekend. Found it the easiest solution as already have a 3kw panel heater in the room so will swap it out for that - similar dimensions. So that means this summer will be about a week long - sorry.

Would be grateful for a report on how you find it. That’s the same unit I’m considering but more for heat than cooling. About a 65 sq m double height room with a lot of glass.

I’m looking to get a couple of units fitted and I have found a local fitter. I’m looking at getting either Daikin Emura or Toshiba Haori. Does anyone have any advice on which one are the better units?

What units did you get, they quoted me comparable to the one I had last week.
They also quoted for another Mitsubishi system that was third cheaper?

What units have other had installed that they would recommend?

There are probably better people to advise, but Daikin and Mitsubishi are generally seen as the best.

I thought a/c had to be fitted by an a/c bod?

No activity that requires working on the refrigeration system itself with those units. It’s no different to a portable unit or for that matter a fridge

Those cheap units are fine whilst they are working but you’ll struggle to find an ac company to service or repair it.

Bought an additional 5yr warranty for £50.

That looks very toppy, I'm based in Surrey.

Over the past couple of days, I've had fitted a 5kw Black Emura downstairs for the open planned extension, and 2kw White Emura in our bedroom. Including £250 of trunking to hide the pipework for £3600.

Electrics were another £350 as I needed an 16a RCBO adding to our board as it had run out of RCD's, so couldn't run off the ring main like the one I had fitted to the garden office the other month.
I have just had a quote through, I’m in the North East so should really be cheaper than most places.
Daikin Emura 3.5kw £2178
Daikin Emura 2kw £1984
3 year warranty as long as serviced each year for £185
That’s with no electrics and the indoor and outdoor units are directly under each other on gable end of house.
Think I will be giving this quote a miss..

Another poster up the thread has used them for his bedrooms and rates them highly for that use case, where it’s occasional, and the cost of a fully fitted system would be prohibitive, or awkward to install. I think they’re every so slightly less efficient, but I don’t think it’s hugely material. I plan to get one for our loft conversion, and possibly my daughters room for the summer. They will be a bit noises but I’ve no doubt less bad than a fan!

I did notice the holiday inn at Solstice Park near Andover seems to have very similar units. Think they are much more common in other countries.

Great! Just what I like to hear.

Booked in with them to put in a 2.5Kw Dakin Floor Standing Prefera unit - £2,278.13.

Does this sound about right?

I gather the floor units cost more and I also need an external isolator fitted.

I believe the floor units are 4x more expensive than the wall hung ones. So based on what I paid for an installed 2.5kw wall mounted, seems comparable.

Any idea why floor mounted are so much more? Are they typically bigger?
