Another two weeks on and lots more progress. Main jobs done over that period are:

The internal stud walls are all complete and the solid wall to the side of the kitchen is nearly there.

The flat roof is finished, and the roof lantern installed, so we are at least watertight from above. The windows and sliding doors should be going in by the end of the month to give us total weatherproofing.

The insulation for the floor is down and the guys are installing the UFH pipes as we speak. The screed goes down on Wednesday and then we can turn the heating on while the guys move on to plaster boarding and other internal work.

First fix electrics are also done.

Looking from the kitchen to bedroom 3 on the side of the house.

View from Bed 3 to the living room..

View from the living room to Bed 3.

Opening for living room sliding doors to the left, kitchen opening on the right.

View to Bed 3 from the bathroom with floor insulation down.

View from hallway with kitchen door in front and door to Bed 3 on the right.

Doorway to utility room now created.

View to living room from dining area.

View back through house from living room

Flat roof.

Roof lantern. It's 3m x 1.5m but looks small from the garden smile

Looks good. If you've still got the ability it's a good idea to use aluminium tape on the joins between the insulation. The joins look well done but it certainly won't do any harm.

That's all been done, including a plastic membrane, since those pictures were taken.

Very neatly done smile you'll love the screed going in, it's very satisfying to watch it being done.

Plumber is very neat in everything he does.

I’ve done it once before on my self-build and agree, it’s very satisfying indeed smile

Good stuff!

I may have the wrong person, but didn't you do that self build around Canford Cliffs some years ago, and have a thread on it, too? I have it in my head it was about the same time my brother was buying in BH13.
(I could be completely wrong!)
If so, you get about a bit! laugh

Yep that was me, Links View Avenue.

Yes I’ve been a little nomadic (but with a house each time) but intend staying here for many years now. Famous last words wink

Small world! Yes, I could not be happier. They are a great team and really care about what they do.

The company who supplied all the windows supplied and installed. It's from Korniche.

The rear does work well with the garden (IMO), for me that's right balance of taking advantage of the view with good access.

I'm not a fan of trying to blend the rooms seamlessly to the garden, when I'm in, I want to be in.
