Enjoying watching the renovation take shape. The location looks familiar...it's not New Malden is it? biggrin
Not sure if it's been slow progress or not! Felt slow at times then suddenly lots happens.

No, just outside Surbiton.

Looks like it’s moving quick!

How wide is your hallway? It looks similar to mine. I’m about to convert my bungalow and I’m not sure if putting the stairs in my hall (1.8m wide) would be a bit of a squeeze with 0.9m left to get past.

Looking at your pictures it seems you’re going to have about to same distance left between your stairs and hall wall. I’d be interested to know how it feels when done.

I'll give it a measure when I'm over there at the weekend, it's not actually on the floor plan.
Of course without the stairs there it looks huge, but once the stairs and wine store goes in, it MIGHT feel a little tight, but I think it'll be ok, it certainly felt like a lot of room still when the previous staircase was still there.

Looking good but I can't say I'm a fan of the new minimalist staircase

Please be careful of ever using that as a ladder. We had a build that involved using a set of ladders in the same situation.

I vividly recall the panicked phone call I received from a plumber saying they had just found my partner unconscious on the floor and had called an ambulance. It turned out she had gone up the steps to see what progress had been made that day and when she got near the top the ladder feet slipped away/back and she fell through landing on the ladder and face-planting the stone floor.

Out cold for an hour, then two nights in hospital. Broken wrist from putting her arms out, cracked ribs, concussion and a fractured skull. I was 2 hours away. It was a long, worrying drive home.

Fantastic. Love how the walls can be removed without big structural work required!

You should keep one piece of the old teak in a picture frame or something otherwise you will forget how it looked!

Am I being dumb? Which teak?
Although might be too late, pretty much everything is gone!

I had assumed from the vintage of the house and some of the pics that you original bits of teak trim but I am probably mistaken.

How did your neighbours get planning permission for that window overlooking one of your bedrooms/looking right in??

I assume it came after the other house was built.
