I have a company coming to quote for replacing about 10 back garden fence panels.

Whats the going rate for that sort of a job. Its very solid and dense tree and bush vegetation behind them and although they were pretty old when we moved in, they are just paper thin now. They have been nailed together with no concrete or wood posts and have lasted for the 7 years we have lived here as they are quite sheltered and I guess, propped up by the undergrowth behind.

Also, we have an area of decking that is starting to get a bit rickety. My plan (which may be daft) to cover the decking in 3 ply, weatherproof it with fence paint, then lay down some fake grass to make the area usuable again. It's at the bottom of the garden, but nasty decking is an eyesore. Will that work?

I could remove the decking, but what to do then, it will leave an 8' step down onto some earth? At least fake grass will be usuable and look ok.

I paid around £70 per panel on average for two jobs over the last year (one two panels plus posts, one 3 panels plus posts). South East.

That's pretty cheap! Don't think you'll get any change from £50 per panel just for panel + post + postcrete at the moment.
