Since moving I have been thinking about having the garden done. At present it’s mostly laid to lawn. Around 7 meters by 5.5 meters. One corner is not particularly flat.

Thinking of a few flower beds. May be some stones to line them.

How much do these projects usually cost?
What is the hourly rate range or is there usually a day rate?

Thank you

It's kinda piece of string time, but £100 sqm will give you a starting point.

Can be much cheaper, or much more.

Day rates depend on location but £120-150 in the Midlands.

We had our rear garden landscaped in 3 stages over a 5 year period. Some areas paved, patio, paths, brick walls, raised beds, decking, etc ....when I averaged the whole thing out per sq/m it was pretty much £100 sq/m + cost of material. In NE Midlands.

I had our garden completely re-done a couple of years ago, as well as some other general labouring tasks. Rates worked out around £120 for basic labouring help to £200 with skills. I'm south east based so probably upper end of the uk spectrum.

I found it best to engage with the landscapers on the basis they quoted and I paid them for labour, and all materials I paid directly to suppliers (albeit with them arranging the sourcing as they tended to get better rates). They really liked this as it helps them on cashflow, it works for me too as I own all materials so if they went bust or buggered off I can finish it, and I got to see the discounts they got a local suppliers which I've continue to 'use' since!
