The wheel fell off my barrow earlier, and while it was bodged back together it now sits at a funny angle and no doubt will fail at the next opportune moment!

It's a bit of a cheapy-cheap barrow and so doesn't have a nice welded axle support, but instead has 2 tubes with a smaller tube down the middle which are bolted to the frame. See picture below. All the shops sell a solid bar axle to fit into welded tabs, but can anyone recommend a replacement for this type?

I know PH answer would be to buy a powered barrow, or I could order the exact right diameter of bar and fabricate a new one, but if there is an easy and cheap answer that would be preferred, thanks!

Pro5bsbky cheaper to buy a new barrow and either use that or cannibalise the axle

Replace it with a powered tracked barrow, obvs.

Do they do them with V8's?

Anyway, just had a scoot round and with a new barrow being as cheap as they are, I'll probably invest in a new one and then fix this at a later date with some new tubes. Can't be doing throwing something away which can be fixed.

Be wary of particularly cheap barrows, I bought one recently that seemed alright at first glance but is near useless. If you put any weight in at all the body rubs on the wheel and it won't move! It was relegated to light duties and is falling to bits after 6 months occasional use.

What’s the diameter of the thicker part of the axle (the part that’s bolted down)? Could you fit a piece of 1 inch tube over it and fit a new wheel with a 1 inch bore onto that?

What’s the NSL near you?
What pressure do you pump your tyres up to?
What size alloys does your car have?

I favour SI units for most things, since that’s what I grew up with. However, in the UK it is generally a mixed bag. Plus, when shopping for wheelbarrow wheels and steel tubing recently (seriously), imperial seemed commonly used.

I drive the mrs mad by using whichever measurement is a nice round figure inches or cm or a mixture of both lol.
