Omaze, win a house??
Discussion
It’s a beautiful house, lots of upkeep in terms of the garden but I’d happily take up the challenge.
The Omaze description is a bit daft, they’ve dressed it up for Xmas and suggested the new owner will be enjoying Xmas there… next year. Trying to flog tickets in the proviso you can spend Xmas there, just not this one.

Not far from High Littleton. It's definitely not Bath !
It's a nice area but there is very little around in terms of amenities.
I wouldn't mind winning it though as it's not far from where I currently live (Chew Valley).
Here's the Savills' listing

Cheers for the link. In laws are from round that way (well North Somerset near Street). Would be a canny one to win for a holiday home It's a nice area but there is very little around in terms of amenities.

Looking at the Savills link and the map view, there is a house very very close to the front of the house.
And the main garage for the house looks like such an after thought - feels like some wooden carport would be more fitting?
Hopefully those are the garaging & workshops described in the Savilles brochure, although it's odd that neither shows a pictures so I wonder if they are rented out?And the main garage for the house looks like such an after thought - feels like some wooden carport would be more fitting?
There's always a wrinkle with an Omaze house.

From the arial pic, the additional garages are north west from the house (and actually look quite nice)

Mmm, looks like you are right. Now we know why they couldn't find a buyer - £3.5m for a house with your neighbour only yards away. The block of three garages are a bit of a liability as well as they are way out of sight of the house & a 100 yard trek across the lawn to get to.
1st world problems eh?Also council tax is reasonable at band G....£3,493.10

It seems the build of the latest Cornwall house was rather controversial & there's possibly a no-renting clause/covenant inserted when the land was sold so renting it out might not be an option:

The council tax alone would make these houses unaffordable for someone to win and own it as a second house. Moving into it would mean having to unstick to another area of the country and having to change jobs. Unless retired and can afford the upkeep of these expensive houses, then surely all you could realistically do is sell it? But even then some of the houses have previously been on the market for years without getting sold, hence why they appear on these raffle sites. You'd end up being burdened by a £2m property that won't sell.
I'd put good money on it selling if you dropped the price to £1.5m or even £1mDodgyGeezer said:

I've entered the last two rounds, not sure if its a con but they gave me a 15 pound win from the first one.
The fact it goes to charity is/has been enough for me to not feel conned completely.
Had an email today saying I have won £10 from the Cotswold draw, guessing I will have to jump through hoops to claim it but they will make it really easy to use it to buy tickets for a house draw The fact it goes to charity is/has been enough for me to not feel conned completely.

What possible con are you talking about or are you one of those people that thinks anything you don't win must be a con?
