Is this poison Ivy?
Discussion
Initially I don't mind the plant as it was covering up some unsightly wiring, however it seems that now it is starting to really spread around and I would like to trim it down, if not get rid completely.
Is this poison ivy?
I am planning to use gardening gloves and shear to cut the vines. There are some black tendrils sticking to the brickwork but hopefully that will die off once I get rid of the vines.
Is there anything I need to be aware of?
How do I dispose of it? I suppose I can't take this down to the tip?
Many thanks!

You'll need a specialist IDU (ivy disposal unit) for that. They'll use a bomb disposal robot and take the remains to Porton Down. Cost about £5K I reckon. But first, call the police so they can set up a 1 mile exclusion zone.
I like the idea that ivy is poisonous and you can't dispose of it. Asbestos has a lot to answer for.
