I tried to get £400 of credit back from Avro when they were up and running and that took 3 months and the Ombudsman.

In theory unless they have paid it out that credit should move over to the new nominated supplier then be able to be paid out to you. In reality, and seeing as it is Avro, who knows what that could mean - but good luck!

I'm with avro to, as I found the extra additives in their electricity made my oven run hotter and cleaner.

Trying to view statements on line and just get 'an unexpected error had occurred'. Which to be honest was quite expected.

Email in from the company I use to manage energy comparison...

You may have seen in the media that Avro Energy have ceased trading. We understand that this announcement could be a cause of concern, but there is no need to worry.

Your supply will continue as normal and Ofgem (the energy regulator) will shortly announce which supplier they have appointed to take over the accounts of Avro Energy customers. Ofgem have also confirmed that any outstanding credit balances are protected and will be carried across to your appointed supplier.

The only thing you need to do now is take a meter reading as soon as possible and keep a note of this and then wait until the new supplier gets in touch. They will explain how they will take on your account, transfer your Direct Debit, confirm any credit balance and confirm the details of your new tariff.

I was expecting it so downloaded my last 2 statements a couple of days ago.
It shouldn't make any difference, they're not going to wipe their servers are they

I downloaded 4 years worth yesterday. I suspect it is everyone piling on to access their account.

I owe them (or rather, the administrator), 450 quid.

My wife made the switch to Avro a while back so all the login information is in her name.
I told her to do download documents last week, she didn't and is now swearing at the laptop as she can't get access (because everyone else is doing the same thing) - this is naturally my fault.

Earlier this yr I was with green energy, business was transfered to EDF. We were stung, hang on for a bumpy ride folks.

Perhaps gas was too cheap in the 1st place.

Switch to them completed 17/09, Their meter reading site didn't seem to log the opening electricity reads and the gas one wasn't available at all. Finally got the gas reading, but still no logged elec ones.

Now I've got my end bill from BG for my gas use, but not elec.

Luckily my credit balance was only a few quid, so it's not the end of the world if I lose it but still... the one time I go to a small, unknown supplier - days later they go pop. frown

I managed to download our statements, etc last night and took some screenshots. I was hoping that because it was all still working we'd be OK and it was only as precaution.

Off to read my meters, but not much else I can do in the meantime I guess. Got a balance of about £10 so not large amounts that others have mentioned on this thread.

We only changed over because my wife decided to have a sort through our various bills last year and changed us over.

I was mid switch to Avro, they've had the first direct debit of £158 and were due to take over supply tomorrow.

Previous supplier was Igloo who also look like they're going bust, I was about £150 in credit with them too.

Not sure what happens now, am I classed as an Igloo customer still or Avro? The Avro credit should be safe with the new supplier, what about the Igloo credit?

Also with Avro, no idea if in credit - my contract was due to end in 14 days with them, was just about to look to see if worth moving to standard tariff or moving. Guess decision's been made!

I switched supplier a month or so back from British Gas, Avro came up as the cheapest but I'd not heard of them, they had decent reviews but not that many reviews in total, I decided to switch to EDF, they were a fraction more expensive but being a far larger company that I had actually heard of I just felt more comfortable going for them, glad I did.

I'm an Avro customer after going to them (via British Gas) when Breeze went bust a couple of years ago so I've been through this before.

I logged in to my account this morning to check how long left my fixed rate had but I stupidly didn't think to download any statements.

Was just over £164 in credit, glad I got a refund of £150 from them a few weeks back, this explains why it took them nearly two months and lots of reminders to give it to me!

Have just cancelled my Direct Debit as when this happened with Breeze they kept collecting it.

The last three switches I've done were bouncing around in the big six - and I strongly suspect the future ones I'll be doing after this will also be around the big six!
