Sounds like what they are proposing is about right then. Depressing. All I need is Putin to start throttling gas into Europe and it'll be more than my mortgage.

Got ours yesterday, 150 up to 320 odd. New boiler time.
My boiler man reckons changing my 25 year old boiler to a new condensing type will give me 5% gas savings, but will probably only last 10-12 years before some fragile electronic component will render it dead (no doubt in the middle of winter).

I'm in the same boat with ancient 30 year old boiler. I could replace with a condensing one, but will it be bust before it even pays for itself?

Nearly £300 a month on energy. Madness.

Our last months actual usage was only about £150 which shows just how much the prices are going up next month.
One issue is that the Government keep spouting how the cap has increased by 53%, so people will then expect their bills to increase by pretty much 50%.

But for a lot of people who were on low fix rate deals, it's way more than that. Mine has gone up 125% and now I'm at around the cap. Whereas before I was way under the previous cap. But at the same time, my consumption has reminded the same.

And another issue is they state the cap as a figure (£1950 or whatever it is). i.e. "Household energy bills will be capped at £1950" they state, which rather gives people the impression that their household won't be charged more than £1950, which, as we know, to use the correct term, is utter bks.

Did anyone transfer out of Avro before Avro went bust, but they still had a positive balance?

I moved from Avro to Sainsburys just before everything came out into the open, my transfer went ahead as planned. Avro still have a few hundred pounds of mine as a positive balance/credit.

Although I am with Sainsburys for several months now, today I received an email from Octopus (first email i might add) about transferring from Avro to Octopus and i should setup an account with them.

Unsure if i should setup an account with the as i dont want my energy transferring to Octopus but i do want my credit owed to me.

Any thoughts?

Speak to Sainsburys and tell them, clearly there's some issue if Octopus think there are supplying you

I had something similar and it was a nightmare to sort.

Had a follow up email from Octopus saying they made a mistake and would not be switching my energy, so i think im safe from that happening. Although they didn't say anything about my credit balance and how to get it back.
