I love a bungalow.

The stigma I think is changing slightly, they can make great homes.

2 doors down in my folks row of bungalows is an absolute moron who has music pumping from 9am....
Is 9am too early ??

What time's acceptable to pump music from your house?
Probably depends if you're in a rural area, or built up town. A colleague, in a busy town, has lots of noise from about 7.30am - builders with trucks, radios etc, school runs, peak traffic etc.
If I was out in the country I'd expect similar volumes (probably fewer and quieter) from, say 8.30am.

There may not be music early in the morning in the country but the noise of tractors happens at all hours of the day. The cockerels start at sunrise, the sheep are always chatty, and the cows make shed loads of noise for weeks after the calf's are weaned. Never expect a quiet life in the country. smile

Many concerns with bungalows seems to be the sleeping on the ground floor - where any intruder is more likely to be. More safety upstairs?
Are stairs a huge deterrent for intruders?
Daleks are a growing urban menace.

Have you got a link to that report/source/etc. I’d be interested to read that.

TIA
Actually it's just nonsense. But if you ARE interested, here's something to read with a more recent date.

Thank you. I did think it sounded a bit far fetched, but wanted details before saying anything.

That article is discussing a specific recent retirement year as opposed to all pension incomes wink.

If I can find the 2015 report I'll post the link.

I work in the motor trade and we can have a car through work if we want, and every single one of them has one at a cost of between £300-450 a month.
Belongs on the "ask a car salesman anything" thread, but I'm surprised you guys have to pay £300-450 a month for a car. I assumed that you'd all have a demonstrator car each (once you'd been in the job for a while) that you could take home outside of work hours. Or that if you did have to pay for your cars, they would be a lot cheaper than that.

They're not sales people, these are admin staff, customer services, service reception, techs etc. I've just checked the listing and a CLA is just shy of £300 a month.

The only way for people to ‘flex’ if they’ve got no money isn’t it.
