We've been over this, I guess you take newspaper headlines at completely face value too and get all frothy.
You mean “I’ve tried to talk my way out of that”.

I’m not the one getting “frothy” about house prices.
No, something far less important, a title.
Here’s a constructive suggestion. You should think about a change of career to earn more money. Try the Daily Mail. Your aptitude for st headlines plus your fixation with house prices will mean you’ll slot right in.
Here's one for you, instead strawman people, you read what they actually say.

I would give them both up tomorrow if I could buy a Cebera/NSX/R34 for what they cost about 10-15 years ago but those prices are out of reach now too.

BTW - at no point has anyone said, "give away"

So rather than giving them both up so you could buy the home you want, you would spend the money on another car?
Sums up your priorities nicely.
Hardly, you made a silly equivalency of £10k worth of cars against the current rise in property prices, I gave an equally silly response.

So there's 10K you could put towards the cost of the house you want.
No it's not much, but if you want the new house it means you have to give some other things up. It's old fashioned I know, and the modern trend is to demand that other people give something up so you can benefit. Oh wait; that's the essence of this thread you started isn't it?
Do you not think that has crossed my mind? If I was 8k short of what I need the bmw would be gone in a shot, part of the issue is in 12 months, that money has been completly swolled up.
