It does, "with local bus routes nearby and having good access to the motorway network" (just over the fence at the bottom of the garden!).

Been on the market since 2020 at various prices between £499-599k, Originally purchased as a £300k red brick 3-bed bungalow that they'd hoped to flip by giving it all mod-cons and the ever-popular grey and white treatment, doesn't make it a nightmare per se.

The agent has even splashed out on the marketing:
https://www.wakefieldexpress.co.uk/lifestyle/homes...

So why hasn't it sold? This might be a reason ...
They spent all that money refurbishing the property, but didn't widen the drive, so every day you'll be shuffling cars back and forth onto what looks like quite a fast road.

The nightmare to me here is the price. Oof. And what the hell is going on in picture 12?
Price (and clearly location) aside, that looks like it has the potential to be nice, but someone misses the mark. Kitchen looks like it will fall apart at any moment, probably needs a load more spending to spruce the place up.

Comedy en-suite toilet as well.

I hadn't noticed how shonky the kitchen is until you mentioned it. May well be a home-made job by the looks of it. The en-suite I think is built over the "return" part of the house, which has a lower roof line than the main part. I remember this from the house I grew up in along the terrace, you would go up the stairs to the 1st floor, and when you got to the landing, you could go straight on into the bedroom/bathroom section in the "return", or turn to the right at which point there were a couple of extra steps up to the level of the main 2 bedrooms. So I guess that's why the en-suite is lower than the bedroom in the loft conversion.

Kind of gets worse the more I look at the place. And IIRC it is one of the houses affected by the underground stream subsidence, which is why the front ground floor window is different from the house to its right, which has the original larger window in place.

Ironically you have the M6 and M1 Lofthouse interchange 100 yards from your back door yet to drive there takes 10-20mins, depending on the time of day.

There is planning permission to build a 1-bed bungalow in the back garden, so should someone what to build a bungalow against the side of the M62, then that will be shared.

Crazy how you can be as close as possible to something like this and get only downsides to it, always noticed this house on the map just off the spaghetti that is junction 10 of the M4 in a similar scenario, or basically anyone living up against a train line but miles from the station too...

I pass this on a regular basis, M8 west of Glasgow. Maybe you just don't hear the traffic, eventually.

I can't imagine they ever hear the traffic, what with it also being at the end of the Glasgow Airport runway.

And the railway line on the other side of the M8!

Ok.. the house isn't bad at all BUT have a brief watch of their recently uploaded 'video walkthrough'.
I have absolutely no idea why they would think that would help sell it.

Your user name alone would have done. The poor dog looks suicidal with embarrassment.

One would have to be a massive fan of living within 6 feet of the A5 to buy that. Armco opposite tells a story.

Yes - Apart from the awful singing, the main thing I took away from the video was how close all those cars were passing by the front window! They should have shot it with the cameraperson standing by the window.

Like the 80s video effect at teh beginning hiding the balding grass and weed filled dwarf walls.
Low ceilings that even she looks a bit hemmed in by.

And a dog grooming business thats gonna need to be nuked from orbit to get rid of the wet dog smell.

Putting a brave face on it though

The ‘period’ house is pretty grim too. Fake beams, Artex and plastic windows just add to the charm.

But the winner is the vid. I wonder if she does this st for every lucky client
