Been on the market since 2020 at various prices between £499-599k, Originally purchased as a £300k red brick 3-bed bungalow that they'd hoped to flip by giving it all mod-cons and the ever-popular grey and white treatment, doesn't make it a nightmare per se.

The agent has even splashed out on the marketing:

So why hasn't it sold? This might be a reason ...
They spent all that money refurbishing the property, but didn't widen the drive, so every day you'll be shuffling cars back and forth onto what looks like quite a fast road. https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/126328994

The nightmare to me here is the price. Oof. And what the hell is going on in picture 12?
Price (and clearly location) aside, that looks like it has the potential to be nice, but someone misses the mark. Kitchen looks like it will fall apart at any moment, probably needs a load more spending to spruce the place up.The nightmare to me here is the price. Oof. Comedy en-suite toilet as well.

Kind of gets worse the more I look at the place. And IIRC it is one of the houses affected by the underground stream subsidence, which is why the front ground floor window is different from the house to its right, which has the original larger window in place.

It does, "with local bus routes nearby and having good access to the motorway network" (just over the fence at the bottom of the garden!).
Ironically you have the M6 and M1 Lofthouse interchange 100 yards from your back door yet to drive there takes 10-20mins, depending on the time of day.JQ said:

There is planning permission to build a 1-bed bungalow in the back garden, so should someone what to build a bungalow against the side of the M62, then that will be shared. Lagom said:

Crazy how you can be as close as possible to something like this and get only downsides to it, always noticed this house on the map just off the spaghetti that is junction 10 of the M4 in a similar scenario, or basically anyone living up against a train line but miles from the station too... I pass this on a regular basis, M8 west of Glasgow. Maybe you just don't hear the traffic, eventually.Halmyre said:

I have absolutely no idea why they would think that would help sell it.

Your user name alone would have done. The poor dog looks suicidal with embarrassment. One would have to be a massive fan of living within 6 feet of the A5 to buy that. Armco opposite tells a story.
