Couple of hive questions

Thinking of getting a hive system again. Our last house had one and could do with something similar here.
They have a sale on that ends in 10 hours and rather unhelpfully, their chat function is offline. So anyone on here able to help?
1) Our unvented hot walker is not currently connected to the boiler. It uses electrical immersion heaters only. We'd like to change this soon but not immediately. If I buy a hive controller designed for a system with a hot water valve to future proof, will I be able to use it on my existing set up?
2) Thinking of getting smart TRV's. Has anybody had issues with signal strength through thick stone walls and if so, can you daisy chain hubs or do anything else to get the signal back to the controller?
